Whitehorse are currently taking steps toward organizing a USA tour for JANUARY 2011, more details as they come.. ..NEW WHITEHORSE RELEASE: DOCUMENT 240507:...... .. To coincide with the February 2010 Australian tour with Birushanah (dates below) a short run cassette from Whitehorse was generated, comprising two live in the studio pieces from the previous lineup of the band that toured the United States in 2007. These two untitled pieces remain as embryonic works, with this release forming the only documentation of the previous lineup of the group. This cassette is limited to 100 copies, and is co-released by Sabbatical and Sweatlung. Copies were available initially at the shows during February 2010, and then afterward from the respective labels... WHITEHORSE STORY UPDATE:.. The Whitehorse USA tour of 2007 was both epicly awesome and disasterous for the band. Great shows for the most part but through out the tour one member struggled with some illness issues that landed him in hospital and put a lot of stress on all the members of the group. One show cancelled and the last 3 dates played down one member, Whitehorse hit some dark times. Since the tour there have been a couple of attempts to re-saddle the beast, unsuccessfully til now..... IN FEBRUARY 2010 WHITEHORSE RETURN ON A FULL AUSTRALIAN EAST COAST TOUR WITH JAPANESE POWER SLUDGERS BIRUSHANAH!.... Due to a range of commitments and other issues Whitehorse has yet again had some shuffling in the ranks. Thanks to Ramez, Yeap and Simon for the amazing and awesome contributions to the bandduring thier time involved. Welcome to new members Adrian (Fallout/731/demonother) on guitar and Pete on bass..... The Whitehorse Story:.. ..Whitehorse was formed in mid 2004 when vocalist Pete gathered together guitarists Dase and Brent, drummer Emile, and tweaker Grover. Drawing from a range of influences Whitehorse began to form epic, noise ridden sludge songs... ..Playing shows around Melbourne with bands such as Grey Daturas, Agents Of Abhorrence and the like Whitehorse passed around a recording of their 4th and 5th shows, attracted the attention of Melbourne artist Seldon Hunt word passed around and Whitehorse was invited to open for Isis in Sydney on their first Australian tour in February 2005... ..The cdr that was being passed around was released on cd as West Of The Sun / Ocean Turns To Black in a pressing of 500 on Sweat Lung with artwork by Brent Stegeman and "doom text" by Seldon Hunt. This somewhat rough document of the beginnings of Whitehorse gathered favorable reviews from the likes of Aquarius Records and Decibel Magazine... ..Whitehorse began planning a tour of Japan, changes were made to the line up with guitarist Dase leaving the band, his place was filled by Bob and Simon was added playing Bass... ..In May the new line up recorded the track 'Caverns' live in the studio for a Japanese Tour ep released by Sweat Lung... ..The 11 show Japan tour took place in June / July of 2005 where the band played with Ryokuchi, Palm, Birushanah and Corrupted amongst others... ..Shortly after the band's return from Japan Bob and Brent left the band and Yeap (Pisschrist, ABC Weapons) took up guitar duties... ..In October 2005 the new line up of Whitehorse returned, unleashing a heavier more developed body of material in support of touring acts Electric Wizard, Dismember and Pod People in Melbourne... ..Since the return show Whitehorse recorded two Live To Air sessions at PBS 107.5 FM in Melbourne and played shows with Artimus Pyle, Birushanah, Ryokuchi, Birchville Cat Motel & 1/3 Octave Band... ..In October 2006 Conspiracy Records, Belgium released 'Fire To Light The Way / Everything Ablaze' as a part of their 10 Year Anniversary LP series. The one sided LP with screen-printed b-side features material recorded at the second of the PBS Live To Air Sessions... ..Since the release of the LP Whitehorse drummer Emile made the decision to re-locate to Los Angeles and played his final shows with the band in Melbourne, Sydney and at the 15th and final Metal For The Brain Festival in Canberra Australia... ..With Rob Mayson (Grey Daturas / Bone Sheriff / EOH etc) taking up duties behind the kit and Ramez (ABC Weapons) jioning in on second guitar Whitehorse set out on a June-July 2007 US tour in support of a double cd collection of material released on 20 Buck Spin... ..The US Tour led Whitehorse up the West Coast playing shows with the likes of Giant Squid, Saviours, Iron Lung, Silentist and Wormwood, across to the East Coast playing with The Body, Tides, Unearthly Trance, Ocean, Angel Of Decay, Death By A Thousand Cuts Destructo Swarmbots, Javalina and more before heading back out to Australia via San Diego and LA where they played with Riververb, Swampus, Geronimo and others... ..While on this US tour Whitehorse encountered some issues health issues that led to one member being hospitalized and the cancellation of the planned DC show. The result of the illness and flow on effects pushed Whitehorse into hiatus for 12 month following the tour. in August-September 2008 Whitehorse began jamming again but again have been forced to put any actions on hold until 2009 due to band members commitments to other projects or personal lives... ..There are plans for a 12" release on Blind Date Records once the band finds momentum in 2009. Time stands still in the great dome where the last giant harp strums its chords of doom, stars quiver in distant galaxies, where time and space evaporate, and the face of evil grins through the shimmering of the final breathe. The eternal scream that damns us all burns the final hole into the endless horizon, for we are all forsaken, gloom hangs us by the threads of our salvation, our lungs burnt to fine powder and our final memories collected by those that bear the mantle of emptiness, for they are Whitehorse, broken and eternal, their unholy scream an abortion, a sacrifice to the nameless ones whose mouths and stomachs are ever hungry for those who wish to taste the wordless and formless, a fruit that stands between damnation and the true and final joyous apocalypse.
