Since June of 2008 we have been working hard to rebuild the music scene in Klamath Falls. Since then we have brought in 17 national tours and many local concerts. There are seven people that we call family. Sean the founder, Joe is our booking and venue contractor, Stevo is our public relations manager and security for the shows.Brian is our flyer and designer,Andrea is our photographer and Ozric and Haywood are our sound techs.
Some of the bands that have brought to Oregon have appeared on TV outlets like MTV, MTV2 and Fuse. Some of the major acts are War of Ages (Facedown Records), Carnifex (Victory Records), Arsonists Get all the Girls (Century Media) and A Plea for Purging (Facedown Records).
The next goal of Get Some 541 would be to expand to another town in the state of Oregon. The choice has been narrowed down to three cities, Eugene, Portland, and Bend. In the town that is chosen, a new set of staff members will be hired along with a city manager. The manager will take over the duties of money handling, finding specific venues, completing contract requirements, and the general supervision of all other employees.
At this time, all shows are at Yesterday’s Plaza in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Yesterday’s Plaza is a venue that can be rented for any occasion. The venue can hold a maximum capacity of 750 people and has a full bar and refreshment area. Special side rooms can be set up for touring bands with special accommodations and a full service kitchen is available if needed. All of these things will be necessary in a venue in another city.
The target age bracket for Get Some 541 is both sexes of people ages 13 – 26 but all ages are welcome to attend the shows. An ideal city would have a large population of younger people who were interested in alternative music.
