I like to do stuff. I like to do stuff more if it involves an activity that I can keep a vodka tonic in my hand while doing it.
Music
I like to listen to all kinds of stuff. Usually with a vodka tonic in my hand. I'm kidding (not really...)
The shorter list of music to put here would be what I don't listen to, and that would seem kind of discriminatory. So, being intentionally vague, in the hopes of avoiding any accusations of having a music bias, I'll say I'll listen to anything once. Whether or not I listen again, depends on how well the first listening went.
Eerily similar to my dating philosophy, actually...
Movies
If it has Matthew McConaughey in it, I'll like it (and yes, even that piece of shit Texas Chainsaw Massacre crap he was in... the deranged killer look was kinda hot... is that weird?)
I'm also eagerly awaiting SATC: the movie. What? You can't possibly be surprised by that...
Television
This is not so easy. Do you mean pre or post writer's strike?
I love the food network, but realized the only time I watched was at night after work, and it just made me hungry, so I tend to just watch Iron Chef, especially the episodes where they lop off the heads of whatever it is they're about to prepare because that... doesn't make me so hungry.
LOST is one of my favorite shows, How I Met Your Mother, SATC (again, not a shocker, right?), and for good measure, The Office, because who can't relate to that?
Books
My taste in books is almost as eclectic as my taste in music. On my night stand now:
1) The Omnivores Dilemma
2) The Power of Now
3) Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk
4) The Girls Guide to Everything
5) East of Eden
Now, let me clear. When I say, "on my nightstand" what I really mean, is they are sitting there, under my lamp because I am too cheap to go buy a taller lamp. Oh, and they are collecting dust.
BUT! I have cracked open all of them, and pretended to read them at one point, and plan to do that again. Someday.
Soon. Really. I swear.
Heroes
I don't really like this category. So, let's just change it to: "People I Wouldn't Kick Out of Bed for Eating Crackers (except to fuck them on the floor)..."
Okay. Now THAT is a category I can get behind!
1) Matthew McConaughey
2) Andrew Lincoln
3) Christian Bale
4) George Clooney (who doesn't have him on their list?)
5) Matthew McConaughey (yes, I know he's on the list twice,
but I'd like to do him more than once...)
Please note, this list is subject to change on any given whim at any given point in time, depending on which hunk I happen to be drooling over at the moment. The exception is Matthew (I heart you Matthew... even if you did knock-up that chick...)
About me:
Thought I had my life all figured out... Got married to a guy who I was just convinced was the love of my life, only to discover later he wasn't so much "the one" after all.
It took me 6 years of togetherness to discover that he was just kind of an asshole. And I already had one of those of my own, I sure as hell didn't need another.
So, after many many months (that add up to many years), I finally had the courage and a pair of balls big enough to leave the sorry sack of shit.
Of course, it wasn't quite that simple. Nothing in life ever is, though, is it?
And it took me a hell of a long time to figure my shit out - you know, what is life and love all about, really?
After a little bit of hokey-pokeying on my end, you know, putting one foot in, taking it back out, putting it back and shaking all about to get there.
That's the moral of the story - sometimes, you gotta shake things up a bit before you can move on to the next part.
And this is exactly what I did. Although, in a much less coordinated manner...
So yeah, there you go. You wanna know more? check out my podcast at gettingsingle.podshow.com and hear me retell all the gory details of my love life and what it feels like to have your heart run through a blender...
Who I'd like to meet: Everyone. I want to know everyone. Everyone has a story, a joke, a funny face to share, and I wanna be part of it. Life is too short to miss out on that kinda shit.
That, and my little "friends" list looks kinda pathetic with Tom just hanging out there by himself. So go. Friend me. Keep Tom company. Who the hell is that guy, anyway?
