For the past 5 years audiences have been falling in love with comedienne Shannon Gettins’ raucous humor and sharp comedic insight and yet she still hasn’t called any of them back.
Her material ranges from the trials and tribulations of a single girl living in LA to surviving corporate America. Shannon was one of the winners of the California Comedy Conference in 2006 and California’s Funniest Female in 2007. Shannon has been written up in the Wall Street Journal online, appeared as a comedy coach on TLC, performed in award winning short films, is a correspondent for Refused TV and has written customized comedy material for comics, professional speakers and CEOs across the country.

I'm a music-aholic - love all kinds and lean heavily on it to change or enhance my mood. I love rock, pop, soul, any dance music with a good beat. ("Dick, I'll give it a 53...") I love live music, and good mixes and I was raised on John Denver, James Taylor and tons of Irish folk music. The only kind of music I haven't gotten into is polka, and death metal. (Although, if I was to ever go crazy and throw a bunch of desks over and just start smashing stuff with a hammer - I guess I'd want to do it to some kind of death metal soundtrack.)
Movies
Planes Trains and Automobiles (we watch this every Thanksgiving), Old School, Sound of Music, 40 Year Old Virgin, Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, Garden State, Say Anything, almost all the Disney cartoon classics, Tommy Boy, Dumb and Dumber, Forest Gump, Something About Mary, Little Miss Sunshine, Contact, Sixth Sense, Anchor Man (after seeing it 5 times... it just gets funnier), pretty much anything Jack Black is in, the list goes on and on...
Television
I dont have Tivo anymore so I kind of watch TV at random - Curb Your Enthusiasm (when it was funny), 6 Feet Under (when it was on), King of Queens, any kind of ghost or supernatural show, Temptation Island (God I miss that show...), Family Guy (so brilliant), I love a good Dateline or Larry King interview, I also love watching those home video and bloopers shows they always crack me up, occasionally I'll get sucked into some unsolved-mystery-autopsy show, Sex and the City, and Three's Company re-runs.
Books
The Door is Always Open, Monopoly MD, The Celestine Prophecy, Conversations with God, The Alchemist, The Game of Life, The Power of Awareness.
About me: I'm a leo to the core, minus the fashion sense and large mane of hair (unless I'm just getting out of bed.) I play my music SUPER loud in my car even when I'm just going around the block (I should have just walked if it was around the block... but it was a good song) I'm all about comfort although I like getting dressed up now and again and i'll wear heels until my feet hurt and then the flip flops are going back on. I'm my own worst critic (that was stupid, why did you just write that?) I wait till the last minute on most things because it's just easier to stress about it and then panic rather than plan it out. I'm spontanious and will do almost anything for the people I love. I'm loyal and still believe in love although I like to make fun of the fact that I haven't found it yet. Well, I've loved... but if it didn't last it wasn't really real, right? Can I get an amen? I can't stand it when people ask what are your top ten movies, or your top ten songs or your favorite color. Somedays I'm a crouton person, other days veggie bacon bits... Nobody puts baby in the corner!! I don't collect things or become obsessed with things. Except maybe dogs. I love to dance - especially interpretive dance like chris farley's lunch lady. I love to sing in my car - the best is when you can get the person in the car next to you to sing too. I love to workout especially if I'm listening to good music. I love to make people laugh even more when they pay me to do it. I love trusting my instincts and finding out I WAS FUCKING RIGHT!! Problem is I should've listened to myself to begin with... I love it when my dogs are happy - there's really nothing better. I love sharing life and love and laughter with my friends and family. I love big audiences. I love to be pleasently surprised. I love lamp. I love to love. I love proving those that believe right. I expect miracles in my life - in fact I depend on them. I love making my family proud. I like the smell of skunk. I love the ocean although I'm a little scared to swim in it - unless it's in hawaii - and then I can swim all day. I love going to a matinee by myself and picking out any movie I want. I love "The D." I love backyards with fences where I can throw the ball for the dogs. I love hiking out in the mountains. I like to meditate and do yoga and connect with people on a deeper level. That's what we're hear to do (not yoga... but connect.) I like finding people that let me by myself and then inspire me to be better. I love it when people are kind - it's that simple - just be kind. I love it when i'm done writing about myself.

(please read with British accent) Dear Shannon, It has been a cold hard winter and I wish to address our many months spent apart. Those moments of yesteryear linger in my heart and mind when I think of the glorious companionship we shared during my tenor in the California countryside. I reflect upon our wonderful strolls through the apple orchards in Autumn, the festive evenings gallavanting througn the streets of Hollywood and our long chats about the meaning of life. I wish you well and await your response.
