Moon Goddess Cotillion is the creative child of Holly Howell..and has been around since 2005.. The sound is like no other band you will hear...Diverse as the band itself...The collaboration of Holly Howell on vocals, acoustic guitar, Don Whitaker on Drums/percussion, Ben Farmer "Ember farming riff Ninja" on lead guitar, and Shanti (Lisa Price)on flute and pennywhistle..has evolved into a eclectic groove...Roots Rock Americana...you will hear bits of jazz, country, funk, blues, folk, punk,and rock thrown together in a rock soup. Passionate vocals range from in your face to soft and sultry, mind blowing guitar solos, grounded with Don holding down the beat from under, and the occasional ethereal flute on top. Lyrics range from saucy, to sweet, to Spiritual...the heart of the music shouts "We are all ONE." Holly's lyrics are healing and heartfelt. This band loves each other and you can hear it in the music.
The band just released their debut CD "Release." Engineered by Jeff Bakos of Bakos studios and produced by Flournoy Holmes, mastered by Rodney Mills. Special guests are Donna Hopkins on vocals/guitar, Bill Fleming on pedal steel, Flournoy Holmes flute, and Kevn' Kinney vocals.
Moon Goddess Cotillion has opened for/played on the same bill as, performed with: Donna Hopkins, Trina Meade and Tomi Martin of three five human, Ralph Roddenbery, Geoff Achison, Tinsley Ellis, Deep Blue Sun, Randall Bramblett, Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root, Caroline Aiken, Donna Hopkins Band, Space Medicine, Natti Lovejoys, Stop Drop and Roll.
