Curb-Job Comics is no more, Joey and Shawn have gone on to bigger and better things. They had a mutual agreement to end the business relationship. Their comic, GHASTLY PARABLES will still be here on Myspace for your free viewing pleasure.

Joey Lee is pursuing a successful managerial position at a thriving company, while Shawn Cruz is still doing comics in his solo-studio, CORROSIVE COMICS. www.myspace.com/corrosivecomix
THANK YOU ALL that supported us!!!!

ABOUT CURBJOB COMICS

Created in January 2007, CurbJob Comics was an emergence of two styles and ideas spawned from Joey Lee and Shawn Cruz. CurbJob Comics was the only Modesto based comic book production combining forces to offer a book with a bold variety of crude humor, light hearted stories, and the occasional BLUDGEONING!

ABOUT JOEY LEE

Joey Lee started studying his favorite cartoons through pencil work at the young age of 8 or 9, he forgets which. While growing up he favored classic Disney cartoons, Warner Bros., and of course, Ren & Stimpy. Through these influences, he worked up a definitive style of cartooning without any formal instruction.

When asked about his work, Joey stated: “I feel that Cartoons should be light-hearted and for entertainment purposes only. I don’t like when a cartoon series tries to create a depressing epic storyline like Aeon Flux; cartoons are meant to be humorous and endearing.”

ABOUT SHAWN CRUZ

Shawn Cruz has also drawn since he was very little, mimicking comic strips and drawing copies of infamous cartoon characters like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Garfield for his friends. But as the years passed, he put work ahead of artwork, doing tattoo designs and band logos in his spare time, and of course, reading comic books. Finally, he got drunk one night and decided that he should do a comic book of his own.

“I would have to say that I’ve never been into super heroes like Superman or the Incredible Hulk, my heroes were Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, and Cassie Hack. I think that Seeley and Vasquez gave birth to a whole new comic book alternative genre, and I would love to produce a comic book that perhaps helps maintain an alternative to spandex-clad, traditional comic book heroes.” -Shawn Cruz ..
