Sounds Like
Three sleepless friends laughing over a Guinness before crying over a Jack Daniels while watching UFOs over Bonnybridge and discussing God, good music, break-ups, break-ins, break-outs and break-downs.
ghijk are a small group of friends spread across several small towns outside a big city in Scotland.
Recently they've taken a break from playing while their singer re-grows his beard in time for the big folk-punk-acid-electro-country revival next year.
Treelady Studios is honored to announce our facility has been featured in the May 2007 issue of EQ MAGAZINE. The issue is in stores now, and online at www.eqmag.com
What's going on with ghijk? Any plans for more songs/gigs? Are you musically active??
My band (now called Four Minute Mile) have just finished a 7 track CD so we'll hopefully be gigging more regularly - it would have been nice if ghijk were around to play some gigs with!
As you can see, I've been listening to your songs a lot since downloading them! Really loveing your work - favourite track is Starting Fires - seems to showcase everything that you do very well.
I'm recording on a Digi002 computer setup (Pro Tools). It's not very portable but it's what I know best at the moment. I'm hopefully going to expand to a laptop setup when I can afford it so that I don't have to disconect everything when I want to record away from the house.
What stage are you at with the Ghijk recordings? If you need a hand or an extra ear (or mics) at any stage, just let me know.
I'm sure we'll be up for Whahey Cafe soon so please give me a shout.
I downloaded the songs from your site and they're sounding excellent - love your vocals Eon! It seems like ages since I saw you playing in the 13th Note - don't even know what year it was now??!
Anyway, I hope to catch a ghijk gig soon. If you're ever looking for bands to support you, we'd love to be on the same bill. I've just had the first gig with the new band and it went really well. Our next gig is at Glasgow Uni Post Grad club on April 21st - if you fancy coming along just let me know so I can put you on the guest list.
