   About Ghost of a Dog
**** 4/5 Stars - "Fresh and Exciting...impressive debut characterised by stunning vocals... They've hit the ground running and not missed a step" Maverick Country

Ghost Of A Dog bring some much needed oomph to the Americana genre.... this is a fine debut and marks the arrival of significant talent. R2 (Rock and Reel) Magazine

Gorgeous debut release .... an exemplary mix of folk/country and Americana that stays with you for days after listening….well crafted songs with sharp lyrics Taplas Magazine

....highly melodic, well crafted songs ........one of the strongest, richest voices to be heard on the British alt-country scene. Bristol Evening Post

…..a beautiful and very modern sounding album … moving stories… charismatic vocals……this is quality! Rootstime

"One of the elements that is apparent from this album is the sheer power of Tamzin's vocals - Janis Joplin comes to mind" Electric Ghost

"Songs that stand above the norm ...Tamzin is a country Kate Bush if ever there was one" Soundsnew.com

"Wonderful folk tinged rockin Americana" Medicine Show Radio

"Exquisite Alt-country...... A sublime treat" The Forester

"...most delicious......melodic Americana." www.altcountryforum.nl

From Monmouthshire and the west of England, the five piece band Ghost of a Dog have quickly established themselves as being at the forefront of the Americana/Alt-country/Folk Roots movement in South Wales & the West, hot on the heels of other contemporary Roots bands in the area and across the country. They are led by Tamzin Powell, a front woman variously described as everything from “...a female Ryan Adams” to “...a country Kate Bush” and also “one of the finest voices to come out of Wales in recent history”.

Ghost of a Dog’s debut album Full Moon Crime Spree, which recently had a full release via Proper Distribution and Folkwit records was mostly co-written by Matt and Tamzin Powell and draws on their influences such as The Byrds, Neil Young, Whisky Town , Cowboy Junkies, Joni Michel, Emmylou, Lone Justice, The McGarrigle’s, Kate Bush, and Calexico.. (to name a few) but integrate them into their own unique songs which, are underpinned by their collective love of American based acoustic music & ‘70’s songwriters, with a liberal helping of rocking balls, but all run through their unique Welsh Gothicana filter.
