Sounds Like
John Denver on speed, singing melodies of hope and despair while hanging out with a raspy barfly who tells stories of drunken pasts as the drumming equivalent of Sam Cooke bangs away at an endless pace.
OK OK...the album's not coming out until 2008. It sucks...I know. More shows soon!

Long Island's Ghost of Lester Bangs have a lot more going for them than just a cool band name. A general description of their sometimes gruff folk-punk/sometimes keyboard driven sound would lead one to think they are just another band with an identity crisis looking to jump the proverbial shark. Think again. The overwhelming honesty in the music outshines any other detraction, and though these guys might still be a little rough around the edges, it's obvious to tell with further direction and motivation, we could be seeing a lot more of them in the future. Below I've posted a link to download the track "Ceiling Tile Man", from their 118 Miles EP. The group is currently hard at work on their debut LP, which they hope to release early this year. -Chris Moran, Punknews.org
THE GHOST OF LESTER BANGS – “118 Miles” EP (myspace.com/ghostoflesterbangs) A 4-song EP with multiple personalities: Two songs are gruff post-punk with sonic guitars and bellowed half/spoken vocals, one track is catchy, synth-driven pop/punk with more melodic vocals and harmonies, and the last track features heavily strummed acoustic guitars. Everything here grabs your ear though and the impressionistic lyrics (when you can hear them) suggest there are interesting things going on in the songs. This certainly works as a demo; it piqued my curiosity about the band enough so that I’ll be sure to listen to their full-length when it arrives. – Jim Testa, Jersey Beat

Some reviews from
episode 2
‘Good stuff-very
impressed. Has a very Kevin Smith, slightly 'Clerks' kinda feel-very good
writing. And with his mannerisms the guy in the black shirt reminds me a little
of Allen Covert from all the Adam Sandler movies.’-Travis Szudajski

say it was like watching Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller having a conversation.
The script was fantastic and the cinematography was Outstanding! I liked

Woots! I got a drunken phone call from most of the peoples in this band (and others) the other day. It made me quite happy. I should drunk dial more myself but I don't do much drinking, or calling. Anyways, TY for remembering the ghost of Michael Spanks.
