I think T.A.P.S. is a government run outfit designed to discredit paranormal truths as viewed by the layperson. I think they started off sincere but as they became popular their sponsors started controlling the situations. All their fancy equipment comes with a price, i.e., sell-out. I wouldn't be surprised if T.A.P.S. is 501(c)(3) tax exempt like a church- more government issued sponsors of sheeple.
Just about every shred of evidence they come up with, they discredit & kick to the side. If a neutral, undecided viewer watched T.A.P.S., they would leave their TV as a 'now thorough Non-Believer', which is the goal of the SyFy 'Ghost Hunters' show.
Notice that TV show gets an Hour of Time, unlike the better ones who only get 30 minutes.
They spend most of the time with soap opera drama and unrolling/rolling their equipment cords, and back-stabbing each other.
I'd be quite interested to learn what your members feel about utilizing the expertise of anthropologists and archaeologists in the investigation of the paranormal.
