Carol Lipnik (of Spookarama) and Matt Kanelos (of The Smooth Maria), each accomplished singer/ songwriters in their own right, have formed a side project called Ghosts In The Ocean. Avant- Chanteuse siren of song Carol Lipnik’s reverb drenched multi octave dramatic vocals paired with Matt Kanelos’ minimalist and ecstatic piano stylings and vocal harmonies artfully deconstruct, explore, and reinvent apocalyptic cover songs by such artists as Leonard Cohen, Richard Thompson, Wilco, Tim Buckley, Wall Of Voodoo, etc… in stark, original arrangements that distill and lay bare the deepest emotional essence in an evening of songs to celebrate the end of the world.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Coney Island native, avant-chanteuse Carol Lipnik performs her compositions with her band Spookarama frequently in the NYC area. She is also currently composing the music for a new show by the acclaimed performance artist, John Kelly, entitled The Escape Artist that will premier at P.S.122 in the Spring of 2011.
