Fugazi, Minutemen, Husker Du, Arcwelder, Superchunk, Misfits, Black Flag, Op Ivy, Mule, Soundgarden, The Stooges, Tad, Dead Kennedys, Screaming Trees, The Melvins, The Ramones, Sunny Day Real Estate, Quicksand, Dinosaur Jr, Archers of Loaf, Motorhead... and so on and so on...you get the idea.

Cranking the Gain, Bass, Treble, and Reverb knobs with some shattered drum sticks thrown in for good measure.
Take 3 guys, who for our purposes we will call “veterans of the Philadelphia music scene”, each with a mutual love of loud rock music and put them together as a band. What you come up with is a trio - 3 musicians, 3 instruments, plain and simple - who want to do more with less. Rock Music is an established form. Break it down to its basic components and it never goes away. This is what the members of Ghosts in the Valley think anyway.
Scotty Why plays guitar and sings because he was inspired at a Social Distortion show a long time ago when Mike Ness told a stage diver: “Hey kid, if you wanna be on stage… go start your own band. It’s not that hard. I did it.” Shawn plays the drums because life makes you want to hit stuff sometimes. Sam Pinola plays the bass and does some vocals. He does this because he doesn’t know any better.
Audio Wall Paper - some music is just that, sound that fills up space. It blends in with your coffee table and doesn’t offend anyone - And it doesn’t inspire anyone either. Ghosts in the Valley make music that is energetic and animated but doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel. It also won’t match your carpet.
