I am a singer-songwriter centred in Toronto.
I have a PhD in History, and teach at McMaster University. GWC is my side project. Keeps me sane. I've travelled around Canada and the world, and many of my songs try to reflect the people, places and stories I've come into contact with...
The "live" feel to these songs is due to the utterly unpolished atmosphere they were recorded in. For some of these, we laid it all down and recorded off-the-floor in a big, empty lodge in Northern Ontario, on the shores of Canoe Lake. Hence, The Lodge Sessions. The rest are just plain live with some buddies at C'est What, a bar in downtown Toronto.
A bit out of tune, a few scratches here and there, but the feel of the songs came across OK, I think. What do you think?
