____ You grow in central Oregon with a generation that explores psychedelics at a young age. Not the 60’s but the 90’s and your psych-band is Mudhoney, or at least they use a wah pedal. After experiencing the Jesus Lizard and the Flat Duo Jets, you travel backwards in time searching for the roots of rock n’ roll. You go to Texas. Whether from country to rockabilly to blues or the other way around can’t be remembered now but you hover in the 1920’s and 50’s as well as the late 70‘s. Although you study the greats you never emulate them. You're either not that type of a player or you're just not that good. With songwriting as the primary drive, you play solo believing that life needs to be streamlined. You toil at many things through your days and music is always one of them. In the early part of the 21st century you post bulletins about where you’ll be playing to people who listen on their computers. Some are very far away. You survive that hideous low-point of rock n’ roll and continue to play and record for strange and receptive audiences, knowing all the while that you don't have 800 friends and music doesn't come from computers.
Travelin' Man is a masterpiece of fucked up death ill' swamp, love so much that Steve !! Are they Sanford & Patrick with you for this track ? yours Merle
Hello Ghostwriter, I'm proud to be one of your 800 not-friends, I really love what you are doing, your album "Road Angels..." left me much impressed. I'm looking forward to see one of your shows as I'm aware too that "music doesn't come from a computer". If you'd like to hear an american radio show that we recorded in UK in last february: just click on the banner below and listen to our dirty train running in the background!
