Ghotti was conceived very late in a bar one night, circa 2001, by friends Howard Walmsley, Ugo de Gaudio and Pat Garvey, together they formed a strong song-writing team and live act. Their song writing and impressive performances have resulted in local and national recognition.
What do the press have to say? This kind of thing mostly -
_________________________________________________________________
The Observer: The music of Ghotti is a well blended contrast of strong & yet melancholic sounds, nervy & yet melting voice with a seemingly provocative yet relaxed attitude. The lyrics have a strong a sense of purpose, of meaning, are relative and also translate disappointment and a sense of abandon. The songs all have an extremely commercial edge but remain highly credible, they are songs for songs sake, from the beauty and depth of Breathe and Control to the more hard edged and up front sounds of She Said and Asbos they carry no pretensions, are well written, well arranged & very well played, it is classic song writing but with a twist and wonderfully up to date.

Source magazine: The depth of song writing is quite astonishing; the sense of meaning, the variety in styles and musical influences is so obvious yet done with such subtlety that it is truly a joy to listen to.
Vectone Music Media: Ghotti is the most exciting band weve come across in a long time both signed or unsigned, after listening to their songs, watching them live and then meeting them, their hunger, passion, flare, style and sheer ability as song writers, musicians and performers is outstanding. These boys are going to go a long, long way.

Jo Whileys Breakfast show, Radio One: Saw a band called Ghotti play last night, the place was packed and you knew you were watching something special, great band, great live show and definitely ones to watch out for.

The Insight magazine: Listening to Ghotti you could be forgiven for thinking they are a fully signed up band, have reams of studio time, producers and engineers by the dozen and selling records by the truck load. After meeting Ghotti though I realised that their music is recorded just as it is played live, that they dont have reams of studio time or producers and engineers by the dozen and that these boys have not even got a record deal yet. I am very impressed and also totally surprised by the latter. Essentially a bare bones rock band, their music alternates between groove, rock, soul, blues and a hard place but done with such finesse and grace that you hardly even realise youve just had a white knuckle ride around the genre that is music. Keep an eye out for these guys because when it happens Ill see you there.

So there you have it, three guys from three totally different places whos paths have crossed, meet up in a bar one night and a band is born (yeah yeah yeah, cheesy i know, but true). Five years on from that evening and they have done over 250 gigs, built up a strong following, done live TV shows, radio shows, magazine interviews, newspaper interviews, the list goes on. People are taking notice, but most importantly, Ghotti have an in touch fan base of over 2000 people globally and thats just from self promotion - what they dont have is a record deal. Yet.

I’m just sending a little message around as we have a question and we want to ask our friends for input.
We cannot decide whether to release the Album in late May or June. We plan to tour from mid May and the argument is that if we release in June we can tie the release into the fan build from the tour, but it might get squashed with all the Summer and festival releases, however, if we release in May it might have less competition but we won’t have the tour working yet to promote it.
What do you think? I’d love to hear your opinion on this.

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I came across some stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, the fundamentals are still relevant today.
