Gia was born in a northern-Norwegian smalltown, Bardu, September 12th 1986. She grew up on a farm in the country, and while her parents ran the farm, Gia found her inspiration in the nature around her, and started writing poems and songlyrics at the age of 11. As she moved from home at 15, she brought her fathers guitar with her, and learned how to play. That’s when she started to sing, and put melodies to her lyrics from years before. Later, Gia started to perform at local arrangements in her hometown. When se realised how much she enjoyed making music and performing, she signed up as vocalist at Notodden Blues-seminar, a part of Notodden Bluesfestival. Here she was put in a band for a week, and performed two songs for the festivals audience. Two years in a row she participated in the seminar as lead vocalist, and as that gave her a taste for more, she saved up enough cash to record a demo. Gia put her songs up on myspace, hoping to get noticed.
Hoping to make an impact on peoples lives, just like music made an impact on hers, Gia makes a promise of keeping it real, with songs containing her own fears, love and the reality of life.
