Gianluca Rizzo's or better, my career in music started in the mid 80’s when I began to take lessons for tenor sax from a private teacher and eventually joined the band he conducted.
In those years I enjoyed touring in the summertime all over the region until up to the beginning of the 90’s, at which time i left the band due to some family problems.
A few years later when problems could have been seen as a thing of past, even thought they were not, I restarted playing because I love music and I thought I should carry on.
So I began learning guitar, mainly self taught but I had some help from friends like Claudio Perri and Vincenzo Corvello to kick off, to whom i am really greatful. From that point I started writing songs, I had done by the summer of 1994 an all demo of my first cd,11 songs, which due to my military service was put aside.
But in the Summer of 1995 I restarted working on it but I was not happy with the lyrics. So i asked my good friend Vincenzo Corvello for help. He is a fantastic lyricist, so while sipping a bottle of white Martini we conceived the idea with would then be the theme of that cd and we started writing the new lyrics.
After my first cd was done I started playing with a few guys that were usual to come and spend the summer in my town and when they left I took the drums kit and I started to learn them and from there I went back to playing sax as well, and joined a local band with which I played in the summer 1998.
Then in that winter i built my little home studio in the loft and I started my second project which I wrote entirely by myself and I started playing covers with a few friends.. during that time we were going around with the gears in the car and where there was a place we would set up and play. That time it was a good fun.
Unfortunately, even though I was trying hard to form a band, I was so unlucky in that I couldn’t find the right people to play my own music. Vincenzo at the time wasn't even around, therefore, in 1999 I once again quit, this time was my own choise,and I decided to take a long break during which I came to the UK to learn English.
Here I completed my third cd …. now I am looking to meet new people and start doing what I always dreamed of… playing and bringing my music to the road. Gianluca Rizzo.......................................................................

La carriera di Gianluca Rizzo, o meglio, la mia carriera in musica comincio’ nella meta
degli anni 80 quando prendevo lezioni private di musica per imparare il sax tenore
e subito fui introdotto nella banda di un paese vicino.
In quegli anni mi divertii a girare d’estare per tutto il territorio Calabrese suonando
affinche nel principio degli anni 90 a causa di problemi familiari fui costretto ad abbandonare .
Quando poi potevo vedere un po i fantasmi del pasasto allontanarsi, anche se non del tutto, ci riprovai in quanto amo la musica e pensai che dovevo continuare.
Quindi iniziai a suonare un chitarra facendomi da professore, pero ho’ da menzionare i miei cari amici
Claudio Perri e Vincenzo Corvello che hanno il calcio di inizio e che ringraziero’ sempre.
Da li in poi cominciai a suonare e scrivere canzoni, e nell estate del 94 avevo scritto
Tutte le 11 canzoni del mio primo cd, delle quali alcune sono qui su my space,che pero’ fui costretto ad abbandonare a causa del servizio militare.
Nel 1995 ci ritornai su e visto che non ero troppo contento delle parole che avevo scritto per delle canzoni chiesi aiuto al mio amico Vincenzo che reputo uno scrittore di testi fantastico.
Allora! Mentre che sorseggiavamo una bottiglia di Martini bianco ci venne in testa l idea che migliorio il concetto dell album e cosi ci misimo a lavoro.
Dopo aver completano ci fermammo per un po ed io inizia a suonare con un gruppo di amcii che venivano al mio paesino d’estate e quando rispettivamte se ne ritornarono nelle loro citta mi presi la batteria che era di un mio amico e cominciai a suonarla.
Poi nel 98 mi rimisi a suonare anche il sax tenore e suonai nell estate del 98 con la banda di paese.
Piu’ in la ad inizio inverno feci il mio piccolo studio in soffitta e incominciai a scrivere il mio secondo cd
Quali scrissi da solo.
In quello stesso anno mi misi con un paio di ragazzi a suonare covers e camminavamo con la strumentazione in macchina.. e dove ci offrivano un posto ci fermavamo a suonare.
Fu un bel periodo e ci divertimmo un sacco.
Purtroppo anche se si ci divertiva non riuscivo a trovare gente che come me voleva fare qualcosa di suo, poi Vincenzo era impegnato con lo studio quindi questo mi porto una volta ancora ad abbandonare la musica. Questa volta fu la mia di decisione.
Andai a lavorare a Bologna per un periodo e poi partii per Londra per fare un corso di inglese.
Qui feci ascoltare qualcosa di mio ad amici che mi sono fatto qua durante questi anni di permanenza nella capitale inglese quali mi convinsero dopo 6 anni a continuare.
Quindi ho scritto il mio terso cd ed ora voglio fare conoscere un po di cio’ he ho scritto alla gente come voi.
