Formed in the summer of 2006, Giant Root Attack hail from the North West of England and comprise of Buzz (guitar / vocals), Dave Rim (vocals / percussion), Davi (bass) and Keith (drums / percussion).
The name Giant Root Attack is born of the bands general beliefs and close relationship with the natural world. This is reflected in their sound, which can be described as a psychedelic mixture of rock-reggae bass lines, intricate rhythmical guitar and solid rock drums topped off with hypnotic, infectious, chanting vocals.
To date the band has played many high profile gigs, most recently the Eclectica Festival - along side Echo and the Bunnymen, John Power (ex La’s / Cast) and Little Man Tate - and the Hawkfest festival which also included Hawkwind, P.A.I.N, Utah Saints and Tarantism. In addition the band has received radio airplay on stations such as XFM and BBC Radio Merseyside and has been included on an independent compilation CD.
Giant Root Attack thrive on performances and are a truely exhilerating, captivating
and entertaining act. They regularly donate time to charity events, most recently working with organisations such as OxJam (Oxfam), CALM and local councils, PCT’s for events to mark World Mental Health Day 2007.
Looking forward, we plan to distribute more independent recordings and continue to play at festivals and venues across the UK / Europe.
