I started this beast just to help (smaller) touring bands out when they came through Austin, using the connections I've developed playing in bands and working at bars (and drinking downtown almost nightly). Since then I've booked people like Russian Circles, Jonah Matranga (FAR), Tera Melos, Coliseum, Damiera, My America is Watching Tigers Die, and so many more bands in all genres. Currently I book at Red7 (primarily) and Plush (every Monday), as well as Mohawk, Creekside, Beauty Bar and occasionally Emo's.
Booking doesn't seem to be enough for me. So last year I started a record label, Giant Steps Records. We currently have two releases under our belt, Like Dogs' The Hit-Tooth Chronicles and Consider the Source's Fire Alarms. My latest endeavor is Giant Steps Distribution, selling records from the bands I love. Please contact me if you are interested in more information about the distro.
