Gibbons & Ray burst on the music scene in 1995 in a white-hot blaze of mediocrity. Two starry-eyed dreamers, they were determined to make music in the worst way -- and that's exactly how they've done it for over a decade. Happily, the hard work has paid off -- their fan base has grown steadily as the boys each had children. These days it can truly be said that Gibbons & Ray are to music what Britney Spears is to responsible parenting.
Sadly, despite constant rumors of a new album in the works, the duo has been largely inactive over the last few years. Charlie, remaining true to his dreams, has continued to make music, forging ahead with his solo career. John, by contrast, has made a decent living.
Still, questions remain: Have they still got it? Will they record again? Why the hell are you reading this? Only time will tell. Till then, look for the entire Gibbons and Ray CD library in the "Wishful Thinking" section of your local record store -- right between the Beatles "Reunion" album and Cat Stevens' "Favorite Baptist Hymns".
