"Gillian, Lee, and Chris Gibb aren't their real names; that's just how tricky this band is. The Gibbs also have nothing to do with the Bee Gees- again, tricky. The trio plays rock that sounds like a 25-year-old Courtney Love fronting the Ramones. Seriously. As a cherry on top, the group is made up of three of the most underrated musicians in San Francisco: Drummer Chris was in Comet's On Fire's original lineup, the Fucking Champs wrote a song in homage to bass player Lee, and Gillian's voice and guitar playing are about to make rock chicks everywhere ill with envy. (Santa Cruz scenesters know her from vastly different but also great projects the Diamond Star Halos and Hella Fine.) So before even hearing a note, some of us are jumping up and down on our barstools in squaling anticipation of the severe rock we expect the Gibbs to dish out. But check it out: The Gibbs deliver, no tricks."
