A GI Coffeehouse and Community Support Center, located at 2501 Fawn St (corner of 25th and Fawn), Norfolk VA 23504. The coffeehouse is behind the 5Pts Farm Market located at Church and 25th.
Our space has a lounge area with music, tv, literature, multimedia lending library and more. Additionally, we in process of rehabbing our second floor for office and additional meeting space.
We established as a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonviolent and secular organization which seeks to serve as a link between active duty serving in our area, veterans, military families and the progressive community at large.
We have no paid staff, nor professional fundraisers. Every thing we have done and are currently undertaking is because of committed volunteers and activists.
Instead being a retail establishment or food vendor, we are a gathering spot supported by the volunteers and the generosity of like minded folks in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia and throughout the country.

Who I'd like to meet: Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, 'Coasties', Veterans, Military Families, Community Activists, Students Volunteers and others who are interested talking about and working towards making our world a more peaceful place.
We are located in the SE corner of Virginia. The 'seven cities' of the area are: Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Williamsburg, Newport News, Chesapeake and Hampton. Home of 14 military basis in 50 mile radius.
Welcome to my Myspace page, and thank you for taking the time to find out about my true story. I wrote Thank God for the Shelter to give hope and inspiration to women who experienced the threat of homelessness as I did. My book sales also to help The Coalition On Temporary Shelter (COTS) raise money to continue their fight.
I'm blessed with the opportunity to be in Hampton and Norfolk, Virgina from January 23-25. I hope to use this time to share my story with you.
I will be at The Charles H. Taylor Arts Center on Jan. 24 from 1-5pm to talk about my work and to sign copies. After that I'll be at the Hampton Public Library's Open Mic Night. I hope that you will consider stopping in and picking up an autographed copy of Thank God for the Shelter for yourself.
Also, if you know of any more book signing or inspirational speaking opportunities in the area, please contact me. Hosting a book signing can help draw customers into your store, library or cafe. The promotion I do for the event is great for business too.
I will gladly come talk to womens groups, businesses, networking groups, bookstores, libraries, community centers, or anyplace else where people would like to learn about overcoming challenges in life.
