Formed in early 2005 under the name Radius, Kevin Shope and Scott Belcher went about writing music while searching for a drummer. After a long search, an old friend of Scott's from a previous band showed interest in joining. This friend, Tim Maines, was added to complete the unit After countless hours creating music and promoting the Radius name, it was found that the name was too common. So after some deliberation, it was decided that the new name would be gift of dying.

Unfortunately, Tim Maines has left the band. The distance between us is in miles, not in minds. We are all saddened by this outcome.
