After working for several years as a nurse, amateur musician and stage manager of a classical orchestra, I decided to learn more about jazz and the organisation of gigs. In this way I started in October 2007 studying Music and Stage management at the UAMS in Antwerp and graduated magna cum laude. My plan is to support the young jazz generation and to present famous and also unknown jazz groups to the audience in Belgium and also abroad.

At present I concentrate especially on the management of the groups mentioned below. I’m sure you will get to love their music as much as I do!!

SoFriek has been recognised by the Flemish government as an official management/booking office: VG 1438/BA

Beside the gigs, they can be booked for receptions or company parties.

ANDY DECLERCK & KARI ANTILA GROUP (B/FI): http://www.adkagroup.com

Andy Declerck & Kari Antila Group is a Belgium based contemporary flavoured jazz group, which was founded in 2004. The idea of the band was created in weekly local jam sessions in Ghent (Belgium), where Kari and Andy used to hang out and often played together with the local Belgian jazz players. Later on, the Group started to find more working opportunities in Belgium in jazz cafés and stages, performing standard jazz repertoire. Gradually they were also able to find performing opportunities in other countries, adding more original compositions to their program.

At the moment Andy Declerck & Kari Antila Group is one of the most well-known new Belgian jazz bands. In November 2007 they were chosen to perform in the appreciated JazzLab Series Tour, which represents the best new jazz bands in Belgium.

Andy and Kari released their first CD ‘1000 Miles Away’ in March 2007. The CD has got praising reviews in newspapers, jazz magazines and the radios in Belgium and Finland for example. The music on the CD was composed by Kari and Andy, and stylistically belongs to modern postbop jazzstyle.

On stage their band concentrates on creating interactive, energetic and swinging group performance, capturing the audience with intensive playing.

After a creative break, there are new concerts and a lot of plans for new compositions. The next CD is rumoured to have also new instrumental colours and maybe even new members in the band. Spiced up with original compositional spirit of Andy Declerck & Kari Antila Group.

The repertoire mainly consists of tunes by Joshua Redman, Steve Swallow and John Scofield, but compositions of their own are also taken into consideration. The main thing of the group is that jazz must groove and swing. These conditions are given a central role in the music produced by the quartet. Be surprised by the interaction and get dragged away by the groove!!!

The trio, arises accidentally after tried out some compositions of Andy. The good feeling was there and the band got a lot of positive comments from the audience, so they decided to continue. Their music includes especially jazz, latin and fusion.

Jazz Orchestra North is kind of brotherhood created around the Finnish jazz musicians Kari Antila, Jouni Isoherranen and Jussi Paavola. All the musicians have gone through countless jam sessions and gigs in very many countries in Europe and even worldwide. The Group packs therefore alot of musical experience and can be interactive and flexible to transform itself from straight ahead acoustic jazz group to ethnical electricfusion band and everything between. Orchestra is also flexible to transform itself to XL format were normally band includes at least drums. To make the long story short: come and see us at the gigs !

TRIORGAN:

This trio brings original compositions by saxofonist Andy Declerck and hammondplayer Dirk Vanderlinden. Dirk played with Toots Thielemans and other famous musicians and is also known by now from the Debby and Nancy show on (Belgian) TV.
