G.I.Joseph are a four-piece punk-rock band from Enfield, North London who formed 5 years ago at Wolverhampton University.

Their musical stylings are fast paced, tight and brilliantly layered with a mixture of honest, imaginative and anti establishment lyrics. They are also known to occassionally perform live covers - one firm fan favorite being Chuck Berry’s ‘Johnny B. Goode’.

Since those early days in 2003 the line up for the band has changed very little – A factor that gives them a wonderfully energetic ease on stage. The band consists of a “crooner-esque” Mat on Vocals who manages a cross between Dan from Alkaline trio and Frank Sinatra. The powerful and exceedingly fast drumming of Stuart, the accomplished playing of lead guitarist Mark, who hits you with a bold chordal attack and the deep pounding bass rhythms of Fred; all in all making for a very lively show.

G.I.Joseph are a passionate and dedicated band that not only self promote (via websites, flyers, stickers, t-shirts…) but also enjoy complete control by recording, mixing music themselves and designing their own artwork.

The band has played in venues and pubs across the UK from The Birmingham Barfly, The Underworld in Luton, to the 12 Bar in Soho. They have released 2 EPs, one album and are on the brink of releasing their new album ‘Over the top’.

We are currently in the process of finishing off the new album material. Hopefully some finished songs will be available on our website soon. All our previous work is available in full for free in the Mp3s section of our site.
