Gilad With the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra

I was born in Israel in 1963. I play Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone Saxes as well as Clarinet, Sol, Zurna and Flutes.

I moved to London in 1994, around that time I recovered an interest in playing the music of the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe that had been in the back of his mind for years. In 2000 I founded the Orient House Ensemble.

Since then the Orient House Ensemble has toured all over the world. The Orient House Ensemble includes Asaf Sirkis on Drums, Yaron Stavi on Bass and Frank Harrison ..s.

Over the years my music has moved more and more towards a cultural hybrid.

Gilad Atzmon's Sky Special

As a member of the Blockheads, I recorded and performed with such as Ian Dury, Robbie Williams, Sinead O'Connor and Paul McCartney. I has also recorded with Robert Wyatt, the Waters Boys and many others.

In 2007 I re-launched my musical-producer career. I recently produced Sarah Gillespie’s www.sarahgillespie.com and Adriano Adewale www.adrianoadewale.co.uk debut albums. Both due to be released in September 2008. I am currently producing the legendary bass player Norman Watt Roy.

Dear friends, I am playing a free gig at the beauteous Union Chapel, Islington this Saturday.
