Gilles Marini was born in Grasse, France on January 26, 1976. After graduation from high school and having already worked as a baker since he was 8 years old in Cannes, Gilles joined the French army and was stationed in Paris where he acted as a fireman for the famous Brigade des Sapeurs Pompiers de Paris and it was in Paris that Gilles met Fred Goudon, a famous photographer who introduced Gilles to the world of modeling. After fulfilling his military duties, Gilles returned to Cannes where he worked long hours as a baker in his father's bakery until the untimely death of his father, Georges Marini. Then, seeking better opportunities for himself, Gilles decided to go to the United States to learn English while working as a model.
In 1998, Gilles began to work with Irene Marie Models in Miami Beach, Florida where he remained until 2002. During those years when he was affiliated with Irene Marie Models, Gilles also worked in Europe and took advantage of the opportunity to model for Giorgio Armani in Milan . After completing his work with Armani, Gilles once again decided to leave Europe to return to the United States and, since the end of 2002, he has been under contract with L.A. Models in Los Angeles, California. As an aspiring actor, Gilles has studied acting with Vincent Chase and Carolyn Barry .
Throughout his professional career, Gilles has had the privilege of appearing in many print ads and television commercials for companies like Budweiser, Clairol, Coca Cola, Ross, Chrysler, Fila, GNC, Infiniti, Mervins, Avon, Lord and Taylor, Robinsons May, Gottschalks etc. He has also appeared on television in Ugly Betty, Criminal Minds, Windfall, dirty sexy Money etc, and in several soap operas, including Passion and The Bold and the Beautiful. Recently,he has starred in several movies including : Sex and the city (the movie) opening the 30th may 2008, One and the Other (l'Une et l'Autre), Boy and Girl Guide and Stand Up. Gilles has also appeared in the film Pirates of the Caribbean. Gilles lives in Studio City, California with his wife Carole and two children, Georges and Juliana. Since Gilles has always been athletic, in his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer as part of a neighborhood team and can also be found on a daily basis at the gym keeping in great shape or teaching martial arts to his 10 years old son Georges. Gilles also regularly hikes , camps and fishes with Georges and loves to play with 3 years old daughter Juliana.

Hi Gilles...I watched Nip/Tuck and as the story unfolded...I must admit I was holding my breath! lol But, thankfully, it was a provocative storyline without crossing any lines...and you did an amazing job! As an actor, it's so important to be able to do many different types of characters...and even though this character was....hmmm...'dark'...he didn't act on his dark side...and even acknowledged his weakness...very well done! (...and after all...it IS Nip/Tuck)
