Gillian Cofsky

About me:

I began my bellydance journey in 2002 on Vancouver Island at 15 years of age. Since then I have strived to find my place in the dance community through teaching, performing, and eternally learning. I'm a founding member of the tribal bellydance troupe, Luciterra, currently performing around Vancouver. I also perform solo and with the Sisters of Alchemy.

You can see me on the instructional TV series 'Shimmy' (www.shimmy.tv), in the 'Bellyfit Earth' instructional DVD for home use, and soon teaching bellydance on www.myyogaonline.com.

I find joy and inspiration in the dance and fitness world, and the community of women that accompanies it. Through my performances I strive to reclaim a sense of rooted, feminine sensuality, in hopes that other women will be moved to achieve the same.




I dance in front of audiences, in my living room, to teach others, to learn everything I can, to be active, to relax, to communicate, to discover myself.
