Bio
Born and raised on Cape Breton Island, Gillian was exposed to traditional music at a young age. She was first interested in stepdancing and started lessons in her hometown of New Waterford around the age of 7. After purchasing Ashley MacIsaac's album, "Close to the Floor", to practice dancing to, she fell in love with fiddle. She initially began lessons with Stephanie Wills, but then continued lessons for several years with her hero, the late Jerry Holland. Gillian is gaining recognition around the island sitting in for square sets, and also playing local concerts.
