The GilmartinPotter Band's debut CD "Just Before Rising" was finished in April 2007, produced with Uwe Sabirowsky (Beatsteaks, Age of Orange, etc.) at Minirock Studios in Cologne. Drummer Alex Vesper was a great new add to the sound, and we are so happy with it. Buy it here on the site, or just buy a single. But buy.

GMP's history starts in New York City in the downtown scene rubbing shoulders with some of the best-known songwriters of our time: Suzanne Vega, Taylor Dane, David Byrne and Alejandro Sanz. "Gilmartin and Potter give a wonderful performance, These songs are a special treat," says rock and roll Hall of Famer and New York City deejay Joey Reynolds. Their songwriting style has been compared to that of Paul Simon, Green Day, and Sheryl Crow, for its catchy rhythms and equally memorable lyrical hooks.

Both members sing lead vocals and backing harmonies, with Potter on rhythm guitar, and Gilmartin's soulful leads. They perform original songs and their own distinctive versions of songs by greats like Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, and John Mayer.



The GilmartinPotter band has toured three times in Europe in two years, playing to enthusiastic audiences in Germany, France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. The band is currently recording a new CD and were recently featured on a recording of "Last Christmas" by George Michael on Radio Fritz 101.1 Berlin, Germany.

Dorothy has performed with Philip Glass, Pete Seeger, Papo Gely (Puerto Rico), Tico Da Costa (Brazil), Lucia Pulido and Fiesta de Tambores (Colombia), and her own Latin band, Azuleja.
