Bleeping, Blurping, Gurping, Shards of Feedback, Drones, Electricity... Gil San Marcos uses no actual instruments, drum beats, vocals, synthesizers/keyboards, theremin boxes, or turntables. Nearly all analog, laptop used once in a while when in the mood.
Gil San Marcos makes textural sounds as a musical release. Gil San Marcos occurs in downtime between other projects. Gil San Marcos has a split 7" record with Soda Diet out on Toobsox (R.I.P.), as well as cassette and cd-r releases. Gil San Marcos prefers, however, live settings over home-recorded messes. Gil San Marcos has fun being Gil San Marcos. Gil San Marcos has played live shows in Texas, Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Rhode Island and is always interested in playing more shows. Gil San Marcos has played live on Brown University's radio program "Phoning It In" on BSR 88.1, archived at www.bsrlive.com. Art in other forms include video and film projects, sculpture, and mixed media compositions.
