Holed up in Karmic Hit studios Steve & Russell P. Kilbey were making music - soundtracks for the movies playing on the screens of their minds- the inner cinema. The results were both low key and grandiose - sweeping atmospheric instrumental music designed as a mysterious, prevailing purveyance, filled with ambiguous mood.
The finished album - Gilt Trip was released in a very limited run and has since become something of a collectors piece.
Some years after the original Gilt Trip, comes "Egyptian Register" - more gossamery instrumental tracks coated in the bitter dews of regret. Musical poetry by an imagined poet - this collection keeps its head above ambience but draws on its peaceful depths.
