   Gil A. Waters's Blurbs
About me:
Gil A. Waters

I am no one in particular. Just a generic middle-class white boy, born in the bowels of the Midwest and raised in a bland East Coast suburb of utter unremarkability. I'm a misanthrope who hungers for human connections. I don't like people all that much, but I desperately need their validation to compensate for the fact that I have no intrinsic sense of self-worth. I find the world to be a largely uninhabitable place, but I am forced by an accident of birth to live in it. However, I try to see the humor in my existential predicament.

Welcome Aboard and hope you enjoy the rock and roll ride and read in The Roadhead Blog...

Fifties & Sixties Pop Culture!
Classic Cars, Rock n' Roll, Elvis, Route 66, Drive in Movies, Route 66, Roadside Culture, Kerouac & The Beats, Haight Ashbury, Easy Rider & Vietnam

Pop Culture guru Mike Marino looks at the '60s and beyond through his own kaleidoscope, where rock met revolution. Spewing quips like a psychedelic lawn mower run amok, he drags us, more than likely kicking and screaming, through a past few of us knew and even fewer would admit. This is Truth barred from the history books--- or as Marino would put it, the Red, White and Screwed. Could cause nausea, night sweats and loss of appetite. Void where prohibited.

BBQH BABY BOOMERS HEADQUARTERS MAGAZINE

This is the epitome of a boomer roadie book for the boomer roadie. It's funny, it's nostalgic, it's interesting. Route 66, fins, fuzzy dice, carhops. It's all there. This would be a great gift for the roadhead in your life.

now available for pre-order thru paypal ($5 plus S/H)...j. michael niotta's chapbook, "the devil's doin the same damn thing he's always done.'

noir, bars, women & cars - from vegas to dago, the brothels of germany to doha, kuwait: a wild & gritty collection of 17 cuts: pomes & prose, plus 3 excerpts from the novel, ‘the ants, thirsty,’ all from the former editor/columnist of 86…the man who put "hard fic" on the streets…the hardcore referee/translator/negotiator you’d hire when sitting bookended in a bar between nick tosches & chuck palahniuk.

"look, the stuff is good. quite good. straight up - like a good half-glass of whiskey."
—dan fante, author of ‘mooch,’ ‘spitting off tall buildings,’ ‘kissed by a fat waitress,’ & ‘a gin pissing raw meat dual carburetor v-8 son of a bitch from los angeles.’

I have no idea who you are or how you came to wander the labyrinth of my friends list, but simply reading your "About Me" section intrigued me.  You're rather interesting, so I think I'll keep you around.

Hi there!
My debut novel, The Cuckoo Parchment and the Dyke, has just launched. If you get a chance I'd be grateful if you'd go to my profile to find out more. The story's about Dada, art and artists, and the attempt to instigate revolution by means of art.
Thanks and take care,
Michael

Stanza XXXVIII

Which I wish to say is this
There is no beginning to an end
But there is a beginning and an end
To beginning.
Why yes of course.
Any one can learn that north of course
Is not only north but north as north
Why were they worried.
What I wish to say is this.
Yes of course

Stanza LXIII

I wish that I had spoken only of it all.

Thnx 4 the cultural co-connexion - it is a pleasure to be with creative flux.

Poets/artists Smith & Lady K's back story: left Cleveland 2006 with backpacks to live for 16 months in England, Netherlands, Poland, Croatia, Italy, France, Spain, Morocco, followed by 15 months Oaxaca Mexico. Now back in Cleveland since March 2009 to stay year or two.
