Hi kitties and humans! My name is Gimli and I am a Domestic Shorthair DSH) brown classic tabby with white male Manx with a "stumpy" tail. I am named after Gimli the dwarf from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and I weigh 18 pounds. The Manx breed is a breed of tailless cat originating from the Isle of Man. We are very stocky cats and we tend to be heavier than we look. Manx cats are like no other! My dad was a stray "rumpy riser" Manx and my mom was a fully-tailed domestic shorthair named Aphrodite--a feral kitty that mom socialized. I am a registered HHP (household pet cat)with the International Cat Association (TICA). I have been in 4 shows so far. Purrlease check out my ribbons and show pics on my picture page! I was born on August 20, 2004 @ 5:55 pm next to my humans' bed. My cat mom was in labor and at 5 pm she came meowing at the door of mom's apartment wanting help. I have 3 littermates who were all adopted into good homes--Tux (he had a long tail), K.C. (aka Kitty) and Pippin (they have stumpy tails like me). Gooooo Stumpies!
I do the "sideways bunny hop" with my back legs when I run and I like to trill a lot. I have a certain "call" for my human mom when I want to find her. I'm a momma's boy--so what?! MOL I like to carry around toilet paper and rolls of paper towels in my mouth. I also like to go in mom and dad's closets and drag their clothes around. Lots of times they have come home from work and have seen a big pile of clothes in the middle of the kitchen floor. heehee I can even drag jeans and one day last week they found a big blanket in the kitchen. When I am playing with the other cats, I like to walk backwards and sit on them, especially on their heads! MOL! There are 6 kitties (Me, Nigel, Isis, Kahlan, Tabi & Charlie), a doggy (Trinity), and 2 pet mice in our family.
Nigel was born in Pensacola, Florida sometime around July, 1994 and is a Siamese X tabby with lynx points and blue eyes. He is 13 years old and is named after Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap. He was found outside by some friends and they called mom and dad and asked them if they wanted another cat. So Nigel picked them. :) Isis is an 8-year-old dilute tortoiseshell with lots of "tortietude". She is named after the Egyptian goddess, of course. Kahlan is my half-sister (we have the same mom but different dads) and a former feral cat. She is named after Kahlan Amnell, the Mother Confessor, from the "Sword of Truth" fantasy series written by Terry Goodkind. Kahlan is a blue mackerel tabby who was born on April 15, 2004(Tax day). Currently, Kahlan is MIA. She got out one night and she is running around the neighborhood. She won't let mom and dad catch her. :( Tabitha (Tabi) is a black and white longhair who was found outside on September 1, 2006. Mom saved her from some kids who had put glue/caulk on her back legs and tail and were trying to put her into a trap set out for armadillos digging in the apartment gardens. She is named after Samantha's daughter from the tv show "Bewitched". Charlie is a sweet long-haired "orangie" that just showed up in our backyard on May 15, 2007 and he has made himself at home. Mom named him Charlie because she thought he looked like a Charlie (they are fans of "Lost" too. Trinity is a flat-coated retriever mix who was adopted from the Euless, Texas shelter on June 2, 2007. She is named after the Trinity River here in Texas. Of course, I can't forget about my human mom's beloved first cat, Kiki. She was born in Biloxi, Mississippi around July 2, 1986 and her full name was Kiki Astra the Imperial Duchess of Sheba. She passed away on April 27, 2000 at the age of 13 years after suffering from mast cell tumors for over a year. She was one brave and tough kitty!
Well, my human mom's name is Laura and my human dad is Brian. Oh, my human mom is the Pisces, actually I am a Leo.
UPDATE!!! My sister K.C. is now living with us. She needed a temporary home and we were delighted to take her in!

And i haz seen LIZARDZ... so i haff ta watch owt. Also..It'z reelly HAWT heer....like, AFRICA hawt. It'z SO hawt that we had tew drink a LOT of Big Gulpz juz tew stay kewl.

Hey Gimli~ I've been good. It's been really hot here. Mom hasn't been letting Levi and I go outside during the day. If it cools down at night, she'll take us out to walk around. Poor Charlie, I hope his ears aren't too sunburned. Have a great weekend and take care.
