Gimme Shelter swung open its doors at the tail end of 2003 at the old Double-O club in the heart of Melbourne. Playing a hip-shaking mix of Tamla Motown, Mod classics, US Garage scorchers, R'n'B and Northern Soul anthems, and anything 60's that you could shake your tailfeather to. The aim was always to provide the best possible 60’s dance night, no matter if it was 'Get Off My Cloud' or a lesser known freakbeat shaker. Gimme Shelter ended its 2 year residency at The Wintergarden Room, upstairs at the Exford Hotel in Chinatown on Saturday 11th April. We are currently on a break, but might come back in some shape or form in the future. To all of our loyal punters, thanks for the good times, the club would have been nothing without you.

Oh yeah, I’m gonna fade away”
