This is a small 'diy' promotion company based in Erie, Pa. It's run by myself, Alex, & a handful of volunteers dedicated to the music & art scene in Erie. The mission is to offer the all ages crowd in Erie an alternative to bars they can't legally get in to and to the $10-$12 shows they can't afford and to have censorship free shows. The shows are normally $5 or less and will never exceed $7. For the most part Gimp Guy Underground caters to local bands and to smaller surrounding area bands, however sometimes national acts play as well.
Please note: Bands must be willing to be paid only for the gas money it took to get to & from the show OR have a guarantee under $150. It takes money to make these shows happen and covering venue costs come first, then the bands will be paid with what's left. It's all about exposure & keeping punk alive in Erie. No one should care about making profits. The staff are all volunteers and do this for the love of music & art. Gimp Guy Underground primarily books punk bands but also accepts hardcore, metal, rockabilly, and hip hop groups. All I ask is for is that show go-ers respect the venues and respect each other. Come out to the shows and support your scene. After all music is meant to be seen, not just heard.
