Townes Van Zandt, Hank Williams Sr, Bob Dylan, Rodney Crowell RULES!!Steve Earle, Robert Earl Keen, Jim Lauderdale, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, Beatles, Carol King, Lucinda Williams, The 70's, Woody Guthrie and did I say Rodney Crowell :-)
A prolific songwriter from the age of eight, Gina—who explains her lifelong relationship with country music being exposed daily to some of countries greats like “Hank Williams, Sr.” Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, Patsy Cline & Woody Guthrie, –Gina has written hundreds of songs that reflects her musical muses. “ Music was played round the clock in my house as a child. At one end of the house my dad would be playing Hank Williams Sr from an old turn table and at the other end of the house you'd hear the latest top 40 blaring from a radio where my mom would be working on her daily crosswords. And I'd be somewhere in the middle taking it all in. It really does resemble who I am today as a singer-songwriter. I truly write country pop.” Legendary music industry executive Russ Regan once called her a“Female Elton John.” Her debut album, I’ll Always Be Your Girl, attracted major attention and earned her a deal on Awards Records/ADA. At the peak of her solo career in the 90s—which included a second recording called , Josephine Redwing Attention —Gina was invited on the 1998 Lilif Tour and opened for such artists as Rosanne Cash, Nick Lowe, Sweet Hearts Of The Rodeo and Grammy Award Winning Artist Jim Lauderdale.
"I recently formed a band called SWAY with friend- guitarist Perry Martin featuring Pat Mattison on bass, Scott Bowers on guitar & Dobro and Nate Laguzza on drums.
SWAY is an all original group rich in harmonies and thoughtful guitar hooks. Our music is catchy. We've been accused of having that song that stays stuck in your head for days, guilty as charged! "
"We are an intense group live. No one leaves disappointed!!
Watch for up our & coming shows and debut CD release " Let It Roll "
That life emerges brilliantly on all ten tracks of Let It Roll, from Gina’s high spirited girl power tune “Cowgirl Scene” ” where Gina says, “I wrote that song after experiencing the strong effect my music was having on women. I realized the stronger I was becoming as a female and an artist the stronger the female fans were becoming. I realized then what a huge responsibility I have.”
to Perry’s heartfelt song," This World" a more socially conscious yet optimistic view that tackles war and intolerance but still reminds us of the beauty and wonder this world posses.
To the ” The easy rolling pop-influenced song “More Than Enough” an energetic reminder that when it comes to romance, the heart is more important than the seduction of wealth. Gina adds, “Don't get me wrong, money is a lot of fun but true wealth is measured in how much you love”
“Ultimately,” she says, “the best thing about all of this is connecting with our audiences. We love writing and recording, but there’s no greater experience than playing live.” When you're up there, there's a moment when you're lifted above all of your daily cares and responsibilities and your transformed to this "feel good" place and you look out at your audience and realize they just went there with you. Being able to play a part in that is the greatest privilege any human being could have bestowed upon them, It's truly magic”
See you around and thanks for stopping by.
