Sorry Webern.
I was born in Jessops hospital in Sheffield on the 14th April 1989. At 18, I read Music at Sheffield University. I've been singing since I could open my mouth, apparently I sang before I could talk. I often sing in my sleep., though mostly I snore.
My songs haven't been around for long, been performing around Sheffield for a year or so. I have recorded an EP with Giant Hit Records and I am in the process of recording my second EP and getitng more enthusiastic with my music making. Being in a band of 6 guys and one girl is hard, (www.watchthisfirespread.co.uk) but it's helping me get on with my own music too.
I aim to start playing out of Sheffield, my only problem is my bastard keyboard, it wighs in at around 4 stone and I cannot carry it easily! So if I ever get a gig out of town YOU are helping me carry it there! I havn't got much to say, but please give my music a listen. My EP is being released on February 6th 2008 at £3. So please get in contact if you would like one, it has 6 tracks, thats 50p a track! I will decorate it properly, none of this photocopying malarky.
Thankyou for visiting, hope to hear from you soon.
Anyway, leaving it there, I hope you arnt laughing at my attempts and leave me loverly comments at which I can smile and radiate happiness where ere I walk.
Sandman Review by Gemma Winks June 2008
"With a voice like Beth Orton, vocalist and pianist Gina Walters delivers a hauntingly plaintive and at times, choral performance (see closing track 'She Moved Thro' Fair'). Each of the six succinct tracks here offer little melancholic bursts of storytelling in that same blunt yet undeniably poetic starin that the North appears to have made its own. Packing an emotional punch that belies its deceptively fragile inoitial appearance with the only backing throughout consisting of Walters' piano and an infrequent guitar addition, She Moved is a she-wolf in lamb's clothing. Like Bat For Lashes without the accompaniment, there's more than a little ethereal about this."
Hi friends,
We would like to let you know that our website, Myspace and Facebook page has BRAND NEW MATERIAL available to preview. Updates include tracks from our forth-coming album and promotional video. Please click on http://www. the-gentlemen. co. uk/comingsoon. php/ and follow the links to Myspace/Facebook.
As we are spending a lot of time in the studio at this moment, as well as recording a brand new music video, we are performing very few dates this summer. However, hopefully amongst the dates listed on Myspace & Facebook (including various European bookings), there will be ample opportunity to catch a show in the very near future before our release and official UK tour.
In the mean time, we are returning home to Sheffield for ’An Evening With The Gentlemen’ tomorrow night to showcase brand new tracks from the forth-coming album and exciting new stage show.

TUESDAY 19 FEBRUARY King Mojo of Sheffield Presents Live at The red House
Back with the first show of the year, come and treat yourselves through a musical journey down at the Red House.
4 LIVE ACTS
RAMBLIN RED http://www.myspace.com/theoldchangingway A one man duet - Acoustic folk blues "i used to run with Captain Lonesome and the gang and we'd all sing and play us some for the folks, 'round allover mostly when we'd take to wanderin' and wonderin' but we took to feeling restless and they hit the lonesome freights, so now im just rambling on, meeting the people and lookin' for a home".
BEN CARTWRIGHT http://www.myspace.com/benhelmutjohn Musical impressionism guitarism poet Jim Morrison with acoustic guitar "Ben is probably the most interesting singer songwriter I've ever heard. His lyrics are so poetic that they stand up equally well on their own as they do with musical accompaniment and the music perfectly marries the intellectualism of classical guitar with the raw edge of folk." (Giant Hit Discotheque Albums) Jim Morrison with acoustic guitar.
TOM STUCKEY BAND http://www.myspace.com/tomstuckeyband Folk blues and poetry Beautiful arrangements of mandolins, guitars, fiddles and harmonicas with one of the best voices in Sheffield, gutsy raw blues fused with passion and quality musicianship. Witness the unrefined acoustic stone house of the rising Tom.
THE INNER STATE CIRCUS http://www.myspace.com/theinnerstatecircus Melody, rhythm and rhyme It's not that they can't make their minds up but more that they cannot resist the inner states
