There's me and then there's the amazingly talented and beautiful Bekah Kelso on vocals and percussion. I also get to play with some bad ass musicians when I do the band thing. Lynda and Tabber Millard my homies and family forever are playing with me in the video below -- short but sweet -- you can't see them but they are rocking the house!!!
I've been playing the piano since I was 6 years old, and started writing almost immediately after. I was pretty introverted as a child and playing and writing was the way I opened up. I thought that no one really knew me unless they heard my music. It felt like it was the only real part of me. Now I find it easier to open up to people and music has been there as a friend through it all. I have played in a bunch of different projects and written in a variety of styles including jazz, rock, funk and prog. And then there's just me at the piano. I get moody and want to poor my heart out ~~~ that's fun as a cathartic ritual and can get real intense live. I like to rock out too so I just go where my mood takes me. Sometimes its the crowd that takes me and I love it. I have two CD's in progress right now that will showcase all sides of my music. One will be softer more acoustic and the other will be edgy, grovin and more rocked out. The "More to Me" EP gives a sample of rough tracks that will included on both CD's Buying my EP from the link on this space helps to support the completion of my new CD's. Thanks for stopping by. I wish you well.
I just wanted to wish you a happy 4th of July. And to say I loved your show at Mojo Risin. I was sitting at the table across from y'all...Shadow joined me later. It was a great show, and I cant wait till you come back to Houston. Love y'all lots. Take care.
One precedes our founding fathers and finds its roots in the harshness of our puritan past. It is very suspicious of freedom, uncomfortable with diversity, hostile to science, unfriendly to reason, contemptuous of personal autonomy. It sees America as a religious nation. It views patriotism as allegiance to God. It secretly adores coercion and conformity. Despite our constitution, despite the legacy of the Enlightenment, it appeals to millions of Americans and threatens our freedom.
The other vision finds its roots in the spirit of our founding revolution and in the leaders of this nation who embraced the age of reason. It loves freedom, encourages diversity, embraces science and affirms the dignity and rights of every individual. It sees America as a moral nation, neither completely religious nor completely secular. It defines patriotism as love of country and of the people who make it strong. It defends all citizens against unjust coercion and irrational conformity.
This second vision is our vision. It is the vision of a free society. We must be bold enough to proclaim it and strong enough to defend it against all its enemies.
You girls are amazing. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we were pretty wiped out. We did a pretty good job celebrating Janet's marriage and Pride.
hey ginger... loved seeing and hearing y'all last night. wanted to follow you over and see the other show but had to deal with a migraine. hope y'all make it to houston more often but if not, it gives me a great reason to ride my bike to austin!! :) take care and keep the beautiful music coming. If we have to have sadness in our lives it seems to make it better to be able to make something beautiful come from it. even tho the difficulties and challenges may be different, suffering is universal. i hope your music is as healing and comforting to you as it is for me.
I celebrate the noon of Summer with this rite held in honor of the Blazing God of the Sun... All of nature vibrates with the fertile energies of the Goddess and the God. The Earth is bathed with the warmth, and light and life of the Sun. The Wheel of the Year turns again... ...until today, the middle of the time of light, Litha, Midsummer. Today the Sun is high, the Light is bright, the Earth is warm. As the Lord of the Sun blazes above, the Fires of my celebration shall flame below
Brother Sun and Mother Moon, day is longest now. Energies of the brilliant Sun aid all at work or having fun. Longest day, a blessing is, from rise to set supreme is the Sun. Fueling growth and passions bright, strong and true is the solar light. Bounty grows and river flows, as Earth is warmed and lighted. Creative energy reaches zenith on this day of shortest night. Crops grow high and excitement grows, with each new ray of Sun. Every day, all creatures play and hail the mighty Sun. Ancient solstice, fires burning, honor the Sun and feed the light. Druid, Indian, Norse, and Celt all danced on Summer Solstice, joyously felt. Solar winds and solar flares wash away our hunger and our cares. Mighty Sun, King of warmth, makes humans to frolic and bees to swarm. Keep this day in memory bright, to warm you on long winter nights. May the rays of solstice keep us warm, all through the year. So mote it be.

Ginger...thanks for letting me know about y'all coming to Houston. I've got it marked on my clander. I'll bring along Shadow, and as many others as I can get ahold of. Look forward to seeing y'all.
You and Bekah (and Sooj, of course!) were all just beautiful to listen to at Heartland this year. Thanks for the delightful music, and allowing us to bask in your serenity for a moment. Love you sister.
