It all started when these 2 guys met at a local bowling tournament somewhere in NY. In between competitions & eating pancakes, Joey was pursuing a solo career as a singer/songwriter & Chris was pursuing a career as a producer/musician. Both had & continue to have their fair share of success & experience individually & collectively having opportunities to work with such artists from Jay Z, Mary J Blige & Musiq Soulchild to having their work in several motion pictures from Baby Boy, Johnsons Family Vacation, Prison Song & Pootie Tang to name a few.....
It finally hit them one sunny day in June (while drinking a beer & a sharing a turkey sandwich) that if they put 1/2 of that energy into themselves as artists, that they could possibly take over the world....
BOOM! Ginger Rose was born. Named after an aunt of one of their close friends that they both had relations with, they both felt it's only right to name the band after her....
Meanwhile they just finished their debut album titled "You'll Love It in the Morning" which will be released September 3 in Japan & also look out for their featured appearance on the compilation titled "The Exclusives Vol.2" (mixed by DJ Komori) which features their SMASH HIT "Jesse"....

We should add that Ginger Rose's debut album came out in September 08' & shot to the 1 position on iTunes/Japan! It remained 1 for 4 weeks in a row & is still in the top 10!
As of June 2009 GR just finished an album of covers that they recorded for the 2nd installment for Lexington/Manhattan Records, Japan. Entitled "Afternoon Delight" it includes covers from artists like Kanye West, Lenny Kravitz, Human League & Al B Sure & more. Be sure to look out for it on iTunes & all major record stores in Japan later this summer.
