Fitness, mountain biking, cooking, sewing and real friends. Oh, and teaching people... you don't get rich, but it is richly rewarding. www.ginmiller.com
Music
When you spend nearly every day for about 30 years teaching to loud music, you get to the point where you cherish silence!
Movies
Movies are my escape, so this list could get really long. I think I've seen just about every movie ever made. I'll add some here... someday.
Television
Don't watch it...it requires sitting and if I have to sit still, I would much rather watch a movie or read a book.
Books
I used to read a couple of books a week when I traveled all the time. Travel for work - not all that fun - but it did afford me time to read lots of books.
Heroes
My Dad. I also have strong hero worship for all the men and women serving our country overseas... AND the families that support and pray for their safe return home. They are true American heroes.
About me: I started this thing called step back in the 80's. Since, I've traveled the world...and met thousands along the way. Fitness has been my profession, but making a difference in people's lives has been my passion.
Hi Gin, my name is Michelle and I hope one day to meet you personally. Way back in the 80's I discovered the Rebok circuit training and power step video, I was always looking for great workouts then and even now!! I looked forward to working out with you on those everyday, You were some one I always felt like I could be friends with. YOur sense of humor was always enjoyable which made the workouts fun too. Those were tough workouts!! Anyway, Real quick, I want to tell you I am now 48 years young, have had a lawnmower go up and down my life 101 times!! loll I am passionate about making a difference in others lives too. I have overcome many obstacles and more... But by the grace of God here I am and go... I was a fat kid, always been an issue with me. In my teen years I began working out so I would be thin and accepted, so you know where that motivation took me... eating disorder and wanting to find love in all the wrong places. OUCH!! It has been a long long road to the right motivation and finding love in the right places. Thank GOD for HIS GRACE and unconditonal love. It is in my heart to share this with you because I need to...(inspired by the song by John Mayer; say what you need to say) even though you don't know me, you have made a difference in my life. Thank -you. I did instruct in my 20's, the pain and grief of my life is what I realize now has fueled the passion in me to walk along many others who have weight and helath issues because of life's wounds. So I chose to do what was required to get certified and am still continuing on with education in the area of health and wellness,I am Instructing and studying now to be a personal fitness coach as well. You inspire me still. I am currently connected with the best team of instructors in the whole wide world in Chagrin Falls Ohio. It is a rarity to be connected with others who are truly passionate and want to go beyond what is the norm. The owner of our place is an amazing person who has allowed
Hi Gin, It's me Michelle again, from the last post , I'm not sure if it took all the characters. So here's what was said, allowed us to flourish in our gifts as instructors. I hope to meet you soon and have you come for a visit. You have much to impart ot those fellow instructor's with a passion to help others and make that difference. Well I'm going to stop now before it cuts me off again...loll You are truly truly an inspiration to me...Thanks again
Just stopping by to say thanks!! Whew, I got through Extreme Step this morning and it felt soooo good!! Your DVD's always keep me moving!! Be Blessed!!!
Great to be on your friend list and you on mine. I am a fitness instructor/personal trainer. You have been my absolute favorite for ages. When anyone asks me who I would recommend for workout videos I have to tell them without hesitation YOU! Carry on ;-) as shall I. Cheers!
Thank you for inventing Step.. this is the only kind of excercise I have ever enjoyed! I got a Step after watching some of your shows on "Eurosport", I think, in 1994 and I've been working out to your videos (admittedly on and off) ever since. Funnily enough it's taken me until last year to attend my first Step class. I've been going every week for nearly a year now and I thoroughly enjoy it - it is a nice change from working out at home.
Thanks for the add Gin! I'm staying tuned to your blog. The information on skin care was really a good reminder of reasons to drink water all day long!
Hi Gin, thanks for the add - am a big fan of yours, still got videos from back in the 80's I recorded off the tv - the one with the very difficult steps Max kept getting wrong. LOL, that was such a cool step pattern, I'm still doing it now (still getting it wrong too) ha ha
Gin, I've been a FAN for YEARS. You've blessed me in ways you'll never imagine. STEPping and RAMPing are huge parts of my life -- I'm oh-so grateful for them (and you).
MERRY CHRISTMAS GIN! Well, it is Christmas and I think I am going to cheat a little. I am cooking a good ole Southern Christmas dinner for my midwest husband. Turkey, cornbread dressing and all the fixins'. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and God Bless!
Gin, Thanks for the add.....You are an inspiration! I have loved the step above all other exercise equipment. And look at how healthy you are @ 51! Now I know there is hope for me! Thanks for your contribution!
Thanks for the add Gin. I worked out to Simply Circuit this morning at 5 AM. I was able to download it from Amazon.com. It's a great workout! I've been an aerobic instructor for 15-years, but now I'm also a full time middle school teacher. I've been having a really hard time getting in to the gym; I don't want to give up my family time. It finally occurred to me that early morning workouts would be a good option. I'm glad I finally thought of it... I have about 30 pounds I need to lose ;-) I'm looking forward to more 5 AM workouts with you. I might do "Intense Moves" tomorrow.
Thanks for the add. I love your reebok workout videos. I haven't been working out like I use to because of a busy life of work, home, and a son with autism. He keeps us very busy. When I'm on the verge of burning out trying to keep up with him, I reflect on how fun your workouts are. I have to say, your videos give me motivated to keep moving. Your such an inspiration for this busy mom. Keep up the good work.
My "New" Dvd arrived today from Collage. So, hopefully tonight I will get to use it. A blast from the past. I can't believe how much I like "The Video". Reebok is nuts for letting it go as everyone I know who steps loves it. I will be getting your new one, too. What I meant by you being into a cooking occupation is your writing cooking magazine articles which I read about on you on your web site. Hope all is well for you and I am great.
Thanks for the add, Gin. I'd also like to pose an inquiry that anyone that knows the answer can reply to. I've been losing about 5 lbs per month, which is great, but I'm starting to get concerned about my skin's elasticity. Will weight training help tighten the skin, or will I be left with excess sagging skin? I don't know if it at all helps, but I had maintained a size 9 (at 135 lbs) until I hit 32 and then gained 10 pounds a year until I hit 196 at 38 years of age. I'm 44 now and am down to 186 and don't want to end up with loose hanging skin! I'd rather be fat!
