Crystal and I decided we wanted to go on a road trip and I also wanted to see and catch up with some good friends of mine in Gladstone. So I thought heading up to Rockhamton would be a good idea. There are heaps of fun parks on the way too.

We left Brisbane on Saturday morning after I took forever packing and cleaning the car out, because I left it to the last minute to get ready, haha. Then after only driving for like an hour we hit this big rain cloud that stayed with us for pretty much the whole drive, so it was pretty depressing. However as we arrived in Childers which is one of my favorite parks ever but is about 4hrs north of Brisbane, the rain had stopped long enough for us to have a 20min ride and stretch our legs. Until came back so we got kept on continuing the drive to Gladstone, where we were going to spend the night at Tahlia and Natalya Diehm's house, who I met a couple of years ago threw bmx .

Tia had a friend's birthday party to go to that night so we thought we'd tag a long and have some fun, oh how I was wrong. A party full of drunk 16 year old is not the best party for a 22 year old to be at, haha. It was still a great night tho, Crystal and I just got talking heaps about BMX and tricks we wanna get and places we wanna go and then we went back to Tia's and all chatted until the early hours of the morning.

On the Sunday morning we got ready and headed for Calliope another awesome park. We all had heaps of fun then, Crystal busted out a backie which impressed everyone along with heaps of other cool tricks. Tia was feebling the ledge doing amazing hang nothings and trying tailwhips, Nat was shredding with t bogs, footjams and trying smith's on the ledge for the first time. I just rode around being silly and tucked the spine. Crystal and I also had a game of 'first to' (I made that name up, I didnt know what to call it) she had to barspin the hip and I had to down whip it, she won because my feet blew off my pedals haha.

After Calliope Crystal and I got back on the road and headed on to Rockhamton. We arrived in the afternoon so went down to the skate park. We had a really good time and a chilled afternoon session. Crystal was doing the normal, shredding with ice picks, whiplashes and sprocket to 270 in. I did the normal of just flowing around, trying get as high as I could over a hip there and just going fast.

We just chilled that night at my grandma's, I was tired from all the driving and no sleeping I did. The next day I had arranged to meet up with my cousin Amanda and her little girl Merryn (4 years old) at the skate park and show them some of the stuff we could do. Amanda brought her camera down and took some pretty cool shoots for someone who knows nothing about BMX photography. Merryn was keen for a ride on my bike so I took her around the park and she was keen for more everytime. It was good to see hopefully another awesome girl rider for Australia haha.

That afternoon we drove back to Gladdy and rode the Gladstone park with Tia and Nat, but it was so busy we didn't get much riding in. So Tia, Crystal and I decided to go to Boyne Island park which is the Girls local and is pretty fun. We got there with 20mins of sunlight left. Tia has AMAZING hang nothings and can go all the way around the Boyne skatepark. She also was killing it with double peg stalls, feeble grinds and tail taps. Crystal was doing heaps of cool lip tricks because it was getting to dark for her to jump the quarter to dirt lander she wanted to. I spent the whole time playing on this one fun little quarter, I did double to fakie, 3 to fakie airs and after a long time of trying landed my first frontjam no hander, I was stoked.

On the Tuesday morning we went back to Boyne for one last ride with Tia and Nat before we left to drive back home. However it was cut short because Crystal hurt herself, not bad, but just didn't feel like riding after that, and I was keen to hit the road because it was a long drive ahead. We decided to stop in at Childers again because our ride was cut short on the way up by rain and we both really liked that park, although it still had puddles so we just had a really chilled ride, so Crystal didn't pad up and ended up having another crash and knew it was just one of them days she shouldn't be riding, so we got back in the car and headed for home.

All in all it was a very fun little trip. We had the best time and hope to do another one with all the Aussie girls sometime soon.
