In 2000 we built a band and started writing, rehearsing and recording songs. We called the completed album 12. You can listen to it and purchase it here or at Apple iTunes, Napster, MSN Music, Sony Connect, GreatIndieMusic or Emusic. You can read about how it happened here.
In 2005 we started recording the follow-up, currently titled Sleep Novox. You can listen to our progress here. You can read about our progress here.
We've grey-scaled or done funny things with the colors of the pictures to make us appear less mortal. We've only posted portions of the songs to make them appear more interesting. If you've bothered to read this far then we should be congratulated on the success of our strategy.

With its swift tempo, mood and style changes throughout, Girl For Samson's debut CD is a nice little diamond in the current 'mine full of dirt' that is the music industry. GFS seem to capture the fun spirit of 60's and 80's rock with their tuneful hooks, and brave exploration of eclectic musical styles. Not everything works but when it does - it's very cool. 'Peteena', 'Always' and 'Noggin/ Babble' all grabbed me right away with their catchy refrains. I dare anyone to listen to this Cd and not find themselves humming 'Noggin' the next day.... Positively not mainstream but definitely worth a listen or 12.

Girl for Samson offers a refreshing drink in a parched landsape with "12." The shadow in the lyrics and musical patterns will cling to you long after you've turned it off and you'll hear something new the next time you play it. Fantastic effort by this KC band.

...when these guys are on, they're matching wits with "the white album" and "midnight vultures." strident.

We were in Michigan on tour in crappy am/fm radio van a couple of weeks ago and a Beatles song roars out on the two remaining speakers. Following the song the DJ questioned, "does anybody ever get the feeling that the wrong two Beatles are dead?"
"Holy Fish Lips! ", brightly exclaimed the girl. it was the most beautiful song she had heard in such a long, long time and it brought a smile to her face as she hummed fragments to herself at work. She reminded herself that she should probably get on the ball and buy it.
