At present, Girl Friday is just a one man band...me. :-) If not for multi-track recording, I would likely resemble one of those musical contraptions from a Dr. Seuss book and need about six more hands! Alas! My kingdom for a band!! Until then, GF plays all instruments on the demos....
The Girl Friday moniker is playfully based on Defoe's loyal and competent Man Friday as a comparison with my own busy and somewhat servant life; That and the fact that I was the only female playing at a particular venue on Fridays in my first foray back into the music industry after an extended hiatus!
Segueing from teaching in the elementary classroom to the fitness and dance studio, "Girl Friday" is currently enjoying writing original compositions, recording demos in her home studio, and performing live wherever she can! :-)
Light of the Moon, the first professionally recorded Girl Friday EP, produced by Dan Workman and recorded at Sugar Hill Studios, will be available on CD Baby, iTunes, and on the MySpace SnoCap store! Other tunes posted here and many more posted on the SoundClick Widget are demos awaiting their chance at professional recording!

The second is a cover of Wake Me Before I Die, written by singer/ songwriter and dear friend, Bryan Fenkart. It's the first video I ever shot with my trusty little Flip Cam, a fun little toy.

thanx for the support!...hope ya enjoy the tunes and can come out to a show some time; got alota BIG ones comin up in NC, playin on the Killers Never Die Tour[w/ Trauma Deville(amazing frontman Davey Suicide), Sore Eyes, and John Corabi( former singer of Motley Crue), and also for a Holiday BAsh including a local band called Never to be Silenced as well as some indie bands & some awesome major label bands:WITHIN THE RUINS (Victory Records), WE WERE GENTLEMEN (Century Media Records), THOSE WHO LIE BENEATH (Rise Records)...All show info to include date, time, directions, bands, and cost is further explained on the show calendar towards the top of this myspace profile. If all goes as planned I'll be with an indie label 3AM Records in Jan so hopefully touring the states, coming to a town near you soon!...stay tuned for updates, most likely playing Myrtlefest 2010 & on the Van's Warped Tour in 2010...it's gonna be a BIGGG yr for me!!
hahah. i use the word normal a lot but i'm not too sure i believe in normality either. :-p things are okay though. i find it a bit boring here. someday i'll end up back in texas and i'll stay there! i miss it so much, and the entire state misses me back! *giggles* :)
