mj's Interests
|
| General | Anything computer related. I'm a total nerd. Music, always. Writing. Surfing Message Boards. Photography. Long road trips. | | Music | Mostly stuff I'm too old for.
Old skewl: Sex Pistols, Clash, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Van Morrison, XTC, English Beat, Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, Neil Young, BEATLES, Kinks, The Who, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, Cat Stevens, Todd Rundgren, Talking Heads, Blondie, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Jam/Paul Weller, Monkees (not kidding), Michael Nesmith, Elton John, Husker Du, Replacements, REM, dbs, Lou Reed, Velvet Underground, Television, Ramones, Feelies, Joy Division, Patti Smith Group, X, Prince, Pixies, Hoo Doo Gurus, The Sundays, the Motown Sound, Top 40 sixties pop generally
Newer: The New Pornographers, Neko Case, Fountains of Wayne, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Shins, Postal Service, Doves, Jimmy Eat World, Lemonheads, PJ Harvey, Bjork, Posies, Dashboard Confessional (shut up), Snow Patrol, Hives, White Stripes, Wilco, Ryan Adams, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, They Might Be Giants, Strokes, Hives, Killers, Radiohead, Oasis, Interpol, Ash, Blink 182 (shut up again), Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Hole, Idlewild, Sleater-Kinney, Smashing Pumpkins, Graham Coxon, Blur, The Fray, Low, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Stereophonics, Amy Winehouse, Silversun Pickups | | Movies | Was practically a film major in college, but I'm woefully out of the movie loop these days. I think the early 70's was the real "Golden Age" of Hollywood and that big budget film makers like George Lucas and Steven Spielberg kinda ruined everything. I was a big Woody Allen fan until the whole sleep-with-yer-stepdaughter deal, which completely skeeved me out. Last movie seen: I Walk the Line. Thought Reese was fabulous. Other than that, I got nuthin. | | Television | American Idol, 24, The Office, The Daily Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Late Show with David Letterman. Don't really watch much TV. | | Books | Mostly non-fiction | | Heroes | You're kidding, right? |

About me:
I'm not comfortable talking about myself in a cutsey way, and I'm actually way too old for this crap. I'm here basically to shill my little American Idol blog, which you can find here: mjsbigblog. It started as a lark, and has turned into...well...let's just say I can't believe people are reading it. It sort blows my mind, but I'm having fun.
You'll find episode recaps and my never ending rants and opinions on a TV show that has taken up way too much of my free time. And you might even find a spoiler or two.
It actually embarasses me to promote myself, but somebody's gotta do it.
About me: I'm a Network Engineer, I live in the Boston area. I wound up in the computer field, because I love to analyze and deconstruct issues. I approach computers in much the same way I approach watching television shows. Hence, my never-ending blah-blah on my blog about every conceivable aspect of American Idol.
