Come and watch Girlie-Q do “classic with a twist” in the prettiest and classiest room in town. Featuring Chicago’s queerest cast of burlesque hotties, a unique variety of acts, and a carefully curated show, you will be dazzled, enchanted, and definitely entertained.

Hosted by The Great Chicago Fire, Ms. Bea Haven, Girlie-Q is guaranteed to titillate and make you think. This is burlesque the way your grannie saw it–gorgeous nightclub atmosphere, leather banquettes, a full cocktail menu with fine spirits & classic cocktails and a dinner menu made of the finest locally-grown organic ingredients. Come early for dinner; stay late (11pm start time) for the show.

Girlie-Q Productions is the latest, greatest incarnation of the series of Girlie-Q shows produced and directed by Jeanne Theresa Newman, aka Ms. Bea Haven. With a keen curatorial eye, high production values, and a queer campy sensibility, Girlie-Q brings performance that titillates, entertains, and makes you think. Our shows have been in production since 2003, making them the among the longest-running in Chicago today.

Featuring some of the edgiest burlesque, modern dance, live music, and variety performance in town, the Girlie-Q is the alternative to mainstream burlesque. The show mixes drag, striptease, dance, comedy and radical sexual art with "lowbrow" performance interests. They regularly dig up the strange, the bizarre and the fantastic for an unforgettable evening.

"If you like burlesque and you're not boring, check out a queer show. It's funnier, dirtier, and the main course is still mams and gams!" --Being Totally Sweet in Chicago, "Ms. Bea Haven, Must-See Striptease"

FOR THE STRAIGHTS:
"One note about queer burlesque for the straight and uninitiated: the acts may sometimes have feminist overtones, but they still consist of sexy women (sometimes more than one!) taking their clothes off and should be anticipated more than feared."

Saturdays at 12:30, Beginning Burlesque
$15/Class or $80 for the full six weeks
Interested in burlesque, but you're not quite ready to jump off into the deep end? Then try this basic how-to class that combines a great workout with mini-routines aimed at having fun, finding your "sexy place", and getting in shape. This is a drop-in class and there is no nudity in this class--all lingerie is worn over your dance clothes.

Saturdays @ 2:00, Burlesque for Performance

Classes will be held at Belle Plaine Studios on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 - 9:15.
There will be a recital at the end of the six week session!
Concentrate on the three C's (character, costume & choreography) with one of Chicago's most seasoned burlesque professionals, Ms. Bea Haven. This is a class for performers who are already involved in the Chicago Burlesque Community or students who would like an intensive class, geared towards performing in 14 weeks. There will be some nudity in this class.
