Just me on the recordings (but HP Gundersen plays guitar and sings backing vocals on 'Dancing In Masks').
Live set up is solo most of the time, with the aid of guitar, Boss Loop Station, trusty rusty Omnichord, and occasionally laptop. Gigs in Norway are either solo or with band 'The Electric Storm':
Mette Mathiesen - Drums HP Gundersen - Guitar Jorgen Sandvik - Guitar, Sitar & Banjo Jan Reed Larsen - Bass
Influences
I like: Autumn, the quieter streets of Norwich at night time when the rain makes the street lights reflect on the pavements, The Velvet Underground, battered-up old guitars, conversations about the meaning of life, Nina Simone, The Kinks, Nancy Sinatra (& Lee Hazlewood), cats, broccoli, Howlin' Wolf, Performance, Betty Blue, psychedelia, Hank Williams, Anna Karina, middle eastern music, The Byrds, The Stooges, vintage ashtrays, the open road, boots and hats, Will McBride, Brian Jones, timpanis, Jean Michel Basquiat, The Shangri-Las, beetroot, old leather, Jonathan Richman, Marsha Hunt, Yoko Ono, sousaphones.
Girl In A Thunderbolt fell from the sky in mid 2007. Two years previously she'd cut her teeth singing and playing rhythm with cosmic garage punk outfit 'The Incidentals' but, due to a planetary meltdown, packed up and set her spaceship to auto-drive. Norwich was the first city she hit.
Using songwriting as a method to report back home her findings of life on Planet Earth, she found playing live a successful way of transmitting messages through the ether, and set about performing in and around Norwich and the rest of the UK.
Having successfully passed herself off as human, Girl In A Thunderbolt recently entered into the studio to record a debut single, to be released on Hungry Audio early in the new year. It will be followed by a full-length album recorded in Norway with producer HP Gundersen at the helm.
For the moment she continues to play shows and writes constantly. She hopes to land in a town near you pretty soon...
"Minimalist Latino blues with ominous vocals, the whole thing drips with a cool menace. I wanna be in her gang!" - THE FLY
"The simplicity of her sound, juxtaposed with the mesmerizing quality of her voice sparked a sharped edged melancholy, while her seductive tone is not dissimilar to that of Massive Attack's signature sound" - BBC NORFOLK
Many, many thanks for the brilliant set last night, Maria. You bring a great atmosphere to your performance that held us all transfixed. Hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we did, and that you will come back soon. Steve x
Really hope the gig goes well tonight - unfortunately can't make it there, but hope to see you next time you're playing in London (or we're playing in Norwich...!) James Xxx

It was okay, thanks, though we only got to do a few songs... I really love your CD - especially "Volatile" and "Old Bones" - please let us know if/when you're doing any more gigs in London...!
It's a pleasure to listen to you, not an "effort" at all ! Now I'm more on " Old Bones "... And Elaine in vain in the stairs... Thank you !
I don't know if you've heard about her, but there's an American composer/singer more or less based in Paris, Krystle Warren, who will make some gigs in the UK those days; I highly recommend ;)
