   About Girl Parts
GIRL PARTS is a group made up of 3 nationally-touring performers who come together for a few special shows a year. Called One of the Best NYC Shows of 2005 by RadioCrystalBlue, its a high energy acoustic show with 3 gregarious women from New York, Chicago, and LALiz Clark, Julie Loyd, and Melineh Kurdian, respectively. All mid-20s and already seasoned performers, the three have 8 albums between them. Part sugar, part spice, part broken strings, part dye, part harmony, and part hot guitar licks, these three pull together to form a charming acoustic rock trio.

LIZ CLARK, already a veteran at 23, has played countless venues ranging from intimate affairs at coffee shops to sold-out concert halls across the country since her thirteenth birthday. Since relocating to New York City, Liz has become a fixture on the residency scene. Alongside several close friends, Liz is an active contributor to Lounges songwriter's night party known as Whiskeybreath, which was recently touted in the Village Broadsheet as the only cool party in Williamsburg. With several independent releases under her belt including her debut Love and War which sold nearly 3000 copies, Liz was recently signed to upstart label, Pommier Music, and is currently touring to support her latest release, "Hand On the Stove", which has already received excellent reviews.

JULIE LOYD, originally a dancer and child of musical theater, comes across best on stage. Called an acoustic spitfire with a kick-ass stage presence by Curve Magazine, this wiggly acoustic spitfire plays 170+ shows a year wailing away on her guitar, wearing another hole in the finish, weaving tunes with a set of gutsy vocals and stomping out her rhythm with a set of steel-toed combat boots. Though shes left behind the Broadway vibrato, she uses her movement experience to step inside her songs, contorting, kicking, and undulating to the beat of her own percussive guitar playing. She has a knack for making folk dynamic: Im tired of folk being seen as boring. Just because Im playing an acoustic guitar doesnt mean Im going to be singing about the mountainsand if I am, Im singing loud.

MELINEH KURDIAN is an Armenian girl born and raised in Kansas who couldn't play with the neighbors' kids until she'd practiced piano. Now Melineh has her debut album, "From where you are," under her funky folk-rock belt. It's a ten-song testament to love, perseverance, desire and redemption, produced by Tony Conniff in New York, New York. The New York Times calls her music soulful and amusing, and it is just that. Melineh's well-crafted melodies support every honest word she sings, from the quiet hushes to the funky hooks. Her easy stage presence makes audiences feel comfortable enough to laugh with her stories, and be moved by her intimate lyrics and her sweet, strong voice.
