About Girls Going Places
The Girls Going Places(TM) Entrepreneurship Program was created in 1999 by The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian), New York, NY, to educate teen girls about the financial and entrepreneurial opportunities available to them. This program involves an annual award competition that grants $30,000 in cash prizes to enterprising and community minded girls, ages 12 to 18. This program also involves one-day entrepreneurship conferences that are designed to educate teen girls about starting businesses, managing personal finances, and the advantages of business ownership and financial independence.
