WHEN: Girls’ Rock Camp (ATL) will take place Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18, 2008. 9:00am to 5:30pm. The final concert will be on Saturday, July 19th, 2008, at The Eyedrum Gallery.
WHERE: The 2008 Girls’ Rock Camp (ATL) will be held at The Eyedrum Gallery located at 290 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Ste. 8, Atlanta, Georgia 30312. The building is wheelchair accessible and is Downtown near Mattress Factory, the MLK Marta station, and I-75. Visit http://www.eyedrum.org or call 404.522.0655 for gallery information and directions.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT call The Eyedrum Gallery for information about camp or the registration process and DO NOT SEND or DROP OFF any registration materials at Eyedrum. Registration materials sent to or dropped off at Eyedrum will not be considered.
WHO MAY REGISTER FOR CAMP: Any girl who will be between the ages of 10 and 18 during the camp session may register for camp. No experience is necessary and you don’t have to live in Atlanta to register (please see below for more information about out-of-town campers). Note: girls must be 10 years old at the time of camp to attend.
TUITION: Is $250 per camper and includes all instrument and workshop instructions, workshop supplies, camp t-shirt, rockin’ road map, camper backstage pass, two showcase tickets, and instrument loan (as-needed). The fee is due upon receipt of your registration form. The camp and instrument selections are on a first come, first served basis.
LUNCH: Rock Camp does not provide lunch for campers. Each camper needs to bring lunch each day. However, if you are eligible for free lunch at school and would like free lunch at camp, please check the box on the scholarship application and we will do our best to make arrangements for lunch to be provided.
INSTRUMENT INSTRUCTION: You can choose to study guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, or vocals. Please check only ONE first choice instrument and only ONE second choice instrument on the registration form. We will do our best to accommodate your first or second choice but instrument assignments are dependent on supply and are assigned on a first come first served basis. Due to the need to acquire the gear we need in advance, you may not change your selection after you submit your registration form, and you may not change during the camp session. If you are not assigned an instrument of your choice, DON’T WORRY, you’re still going to have a really good time!
MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS: Instruments and one pair of earplugs will be provided for use during the camp week (you can keep the earplugs!). If you have your own guitar, bass, or keyboard, PLEASE BRING IT. However, please note that Rock Camp does not accept liability for personal instruments.
